Chapter 7

Flame soaked in the large tub. It was a nice mint green. And surprisingly comfortable. Definitely larger than any tub she'd ever seen .

She had been in there for more than half an hour. The once hot water was now barely warm.

And she wasn't planning on stepping out of that bathroom.

At all!

First she needed to put her thoughts in order.

The angel... well, Nuriel as he was called had assured her that he was going to explain everything. But she doubted any amount of explanation would make anything clear.

" Oh Flame.. you are sooo screwed, " she said go herself as she looked around the majestic bathroom.

It was more than thrice the size of the cell she'd spent the last two years of her life. Gosh! It had been two years .Time surely did fly when you were locked up in the dark. She laid her head back on the tubs edge and closed her eyes.

All she saw when she did that was him. Him and his silver eyes.

He was not there but she could still feel the energy he carried around with him.

It was like an extremely strong aura that you just could not ignore. And it seemed to radiate off his perfectly sculpted body in waves. And those waves were currently coursing through her.

Starting from head to her very toes. It was like a pull. An invincible magnetic force that was compelling her to move.

He had already been to the door once to ask whether she was almost done and she had told him to leave her alone. Not that she was trying to be rude but come on, it was just too much to process all at once.

She gripped the tubs edge, trying to overcome whatever it was that was pulling her away. Under normal circumstances she would be freaking out. But considering what she had already been through, she was pretty sure nothing would shock her ever again.

On the other side of the door Nuriel stood impatient.

He was well aware that females had a habit of taking their time. But she was exaggerating that notion a tad too much.

It had been fifty minutes. And he could wait no longer.

He pictured her in his head, then he slowly called to her with his mind. A skill he'd learnt he possessed as a young changeling. When his wings were barely grown.

She was a difficult one no doubt. He could feel her fighting his pull. Something no one else had ever been able to do. The fact amused him. He concentrated a bit more, increasing the intensity of the pull. Then he heard her curse from the other side. He went to the large window by his bed and stood. His wings neatly folded high behind him.

"What is wrong with you!! " Flame demanded as she unwillingly stepped out of the bathroom. Her eyes shooting daggers at the work of art in front of her.

Nuriel turned to her. She had wrapped a large white towel around herself.... unfortunately.

But the little he could see was enough to drive him close to insanity. That unflattering thing she had been wearing earlier had been doing her absolutely no justice.

He watched as little beads of water ran down her temple and all the was to her collarbone. Her hair was now a wet mass of silk and his fingers burned with the desire to touch it.

Her skin was now an evocative rose pink from the hot water of the bath. And all he could think about was striding over to her and yanking that bloody towel away. He wanted her to bear every last inch of her to him. And she would.

"Hey.. snap out of it! " she snapped her fingers at him and he blinked those tempting thoughts and images away. An action that proved harder than he'd thought.

Her scent was everywhere in the room. From the second she'd stepped out of the bathroom it had hit him like a whip against his flesh. Infiltrating his pores and driving him wild with unimaginable desire.

The hard leather battle pants he wore had never been more uncomfortable. His throbbing erection seemed to have a mind of its own. And at the moment it was thinking about the celestial and sensuous being only steps away from him.

He cleared his throat. Willing his concentration away from her body. Then he went to the bed and picked the linen shirt he'd chosen for her. It was one of his. A deep purple that Angel Drexel had gifted him several years back. According to the fashion addicted angel, the shirt had taken a total of two solar months to make.

"Put this on and meet me in the nourishment chamber after you're done, " he said as he handed her the shirt.

"The what? " she sounded completely confused. Right.. she had come from earth.

"The dining room if you prefer then, " he said as he headed out. He didn't trust himself to stay around her for too long and not do something foolish.

" But I don't know where it is.. "

" I'm sure you'll find it. "

He closed the doors behind him and let out a breath.

This was going to be harder than he'd thought
