"Your eyes are glowing, " Flame said as she stared at him.
"What? " Nuriel asked, his attention on her. She repeated her statement and the realisation sank in. He blinked his eyes and looked away.
Then he willed her to stand and he did the same.
"Don't worry about that, " she wasn't worried. He was an angel. She wouldn't be surprised if he had the ability to change his form or if his skin could turn purple.
Nuriel looked away from her. The scent of her arousal was unmistakable. It had wafted it's way to his conscience.
Angels eyes only glowed during two occasions. When their mate was in danger.....and when they were painfully aroused. It didn't take a genius to figure out what he was at the moment.
Curse his acute sense of smell!
He had tried to prove a point by using his ability on her. And now he would pay the very hefty price. Because regardless of how much he wanted to pin her to the floor and take her, he couldn't.
He'd always been a rather patient being...and now the extent of his tolerance would be tested.
"So... are you going to explain what exactly it is I'm doing here or what? " she asked from behind him.
He was not in the right sense of mind to have a normal conversation. And what she wanted to talk about needed a lot of time.
"Sire, something has come up. It requires your attention, " he heard Angel Rehan send through the mind link they shared.
" Is it urgent? "
"I believe it is, Sire, "
"Fine then, meet me in the council room. I'll be right with you, "
Nuriel didn't want to leave his Doseth by herself. But he could not stray from his responsibilities. He still had a kingdom to rule and although the angels of the council were more than capable of taking care of things, they still needed his approval.
He could have taken her along but he could not fathom the thought of another male looking at his chosen. Especially not with her dressed like that. This was the possessive part of their union.
And most of the other Council Angels were... difficult.
"Did you hear what I just said? " she asked, sounding impatient.
"We shall discuss that. But for now I have to go tend to something, " he said and Flame frowned.
"What do you mean you have to tend to something? "
"Exactly that. An urgent matter has risen up and I have to go and see to it, "
He hoped it wasn't anything serious. Anything that would take a lot of his time. At the moment his first priority was his Doseth.
"Fine then, I'll come with you, " Flame said as she followed him out. It would give her a chance to actually see where she was.
"No your not. "
He got to the door and turned around to face her. His features set in a grim line. His stern expression seemed to roam over her entirely.
"What?.. why not? "
"Cause I don't want you to. "
Flame crossed her arms and shifted her weight on one foot.
"You can't just keep me locked up in here. This is basically kidnapping! "
Her words did not affect him in the least.
"Call it what you will. You are not to leave this room until I return... is that clear? "
She felt like screaming at him. Just who did he think he was?
"And if I do? What will you do then, huh? " She was testing him. Purposely trying to provoke him. All she got from it was a lesson. That she could not get him to react to her threats.
"I won't do anything because you will stay in here.. at least until I get you some proper garments to wear, "
She looked down at herself. The shirt looked proper enough as far as she was concerned. And physical appearance was not really something she had ever been concerned about.
"I won't be long. And I promise to tell you everything you want to know afterwards, "
"I don't care how long you'll be. I don't want to stay cooped up in here! "
Or maybe she just didn't want him to leave. He made her feel safe, she would never tell him that but it was the truth.
"Too bad. You don't have much of a choice, "
She groaned and clenched her hands into fists. He inwardly smiled at her little outburst.
"I'll run! I swear to you that if you leave me here you won't find me once you return! "
Was he buying that? She sure wasn't.
He sighed and leaned in. Catching a strand of her hair between his fingers and daring her to meet his gaze.
"Go ahead m'eudail. Run.... I dare you to, " he silently whispered before walking out.
