Tinted To You

I couldn't stop the tears from falling from my cheek as I watched the kids having a great time with their parents.

Watching them, I wished my childhood was like this, I wish dad was the caring father I wanted him to be.

''Hey, you are crying.'' I felt Eric's warm hand on my cheek

'' Dad became an alcoholic after losing his job, mom was the one taking care of the bills, we had little food to eat on the table why dad kept on taking loans and spent it on drinks.'' I murmured and held back the tears from falling.

''At the age of twelve, dad died leaving mom with all is debt to pay, mom later found out he used the house as a collateral for his loans, which she never knew about.'' I closed my eyes as those painful memories flashed in my head

''Mom became sick three years later due to high blood pressure and stress, and she could make it, leaving the debt for me to pay.'' I gulped in pains and wipe off the tears from my eyes.

''It's okay.'' he whispered into my ears

''I went to stay with aunt and took up many jobs so to pay up the debt, but I don't think I was able to meet up the deadline because I can't remember what happened.'' I took in a deep breath and shook off the pains I was feeling in my heart.

He raised my head and made me stared directly at him.

''I'm here now, I'll give you all the things you never had, all you Just have to do is mention them.'' he muttered those words seriously and gave me a tight hug

''I'm sorry for what you went through, I can't wipe off those painful memories, but I promise to imprint new memories no you, memories that will never make you cry, and that's a promise from me to you.'' he murmured to words to my hearing as a promise.
