Chapter 167

It will just so happen that had underestimated the seriousness of the situation, I had underestimated the exact condition that surrounded this little stage play that was going on in front of us. It all looked like a stage play to me, because everything here was being acted, everything here did not seem real.

Adrian had gone back to tickling Scott and had practically raised him off the ground, his arms around his waist and Scott trying to push him away, but yet the moment Adrian's eyes snagged on Celaena, the moment he saw her, the way he dropped my brother was frightening.

It was frightening enough for me to imagine that for a moment Scott would actually get hurt, or hit his head so violently on the floor that he would have a concussion, it seems my brother was ready for it though.

The look in his eyes told me that he had been expecting this all along, and I wonder exactly how he does that. How does he calculate things in advance so much that he would actually be prepared for Celaena arriving at this place. I'm guessing it isn't too hard to expect is it?.

It isn't too hard that when the boyfriend is away on some secret adventure, the possessive girlfriend would finally find a way to him, it was bound to happen and the look in his eyes told me that it seemed he didn't mind the way Adrian dropped him like he was shunned at the fact that he had been caught with my brother.

He was embarrassed at the fact that Celaena had almost caught him being happy with another person. He went over to her with something of a confident smile on his face, a confident smile that told me this was all for show, all this it was all for show, all the adoration and affection that he had in his eyes as he looked at my brother seemed to disappear the moment Celaena came around.

The moment she came around every ounce of affection that he had as he looked at Scott disappeared, instead what was there was something boreding on just their familiarity.

He practically ran to Celaena and swirled her in his arms while she giggled like a maniac, she giggled so maniacally and triumphantly that I also know she had been expecting this all along.

Thus I call it a stage play, I call it a stage play because everyone is simply acting out the parts that they are supposed to act I am acting out the part of the surprised and stupefied sister of the guy who would get inevitably heartbroken in this play, Scott is acting the part of the not so dumb and unreasonable guy, he's acting out the part of the not so dumb and reasonable guy who knows what to expect and when to expect it. The one who doesn't feel pain at anything done to him.

Adrian is acting his role of whatever he wants to act as long as he's in the in the presence of the right people, and Oakley, sweet Little Oakley is acting the role of the angry and enraged friend, this is going to be fun.
