Ok I'm almost bursting as she full-on snarls at me at this point, and I cannot tell you exactly how happy I am. I am so so so happy and delighted because the whole situation is even funnier to me.
"Seriously what book is it?" I say and she turns another dark shade of pink.
"It isn't for your age".
I laugh at this because we are practically the same age.
"What will your parents do if they found out you were reading such books?" I say conspiratorially and she flushes again.
"Oh my gosh, don't even begin, I am traumatized by this book".
She's practically chuckling along with me now and I'm quirking an eyebrow up at her.
"It was that bad?" I say laughing and she nods her head.
"I couldn't go past page ten!!!. The book is......" She can't even find a word for it and I am laughing. I'm laughing my head off because I know exactly what the book will be. I can't say that it is my first time coming across erotic books, it is not my first time because I practically see girls in class reading these sort of books. They read it while maths is going on, they read it while English is going on, the read it while practically all the subjects are going on, and then you see them pining for the attention of dumb boys like their lives depended on it.
"Did you manage to write on the main character though?" I say and she shakes her head.
"I wrote on something else. I wrote on something totally different"
"What?" I say and she hands over the paper to me. I can see that she didn't write an essay on some dumb love sick horny character for some some erotic book, instead she wrote an article. She wrote an article on "why it is integral that we feed our minds with better content than erotic books". Dead.
"You wanted to submit this?" I say practically laughing and falling on my knees.
She gives me a shy smile.
"I mean it is necessary, exactly why would they give me such a book and expect me to read it to the end. I would lose my Innocence in a minute".
She's saying this and I'm cockingan eyebrow at her
"Is it the innocence that you have, or which one are we talking about here?".
She shoves me away and I almost go falling down the stairs. I grab the railings for support as I am practically laughing.
"You think that it's silly don't you?" she says and I shake my head.
"Quite on the contrary, it is quiet educative"
"You haven't even finished reading it" she says and I nod my head.
"I read the first few lines, you really have a point there"
"I don't really see what the essence is for me to write an essay on such a character"
"That means you read the book even more than page ten?" I say and she flushes up from this.
Okay, I need to get Oakley reading more books, I like this embarrased part of her.
