Chapter 117 Second place

Jiang Nian really admired the safety measure that they put into the race after all they were rookie which made it more intressting to watch,all the caretaker who accompanied the participants let seeing that it was about time for the participants name to be called. It was then than she found that they were a total of twenty six participants for the race and she was the last one while li Ming was placed on the number elven spot and given a black horse with a brown patch around the ski ,once the participants name was all called their was a tense feeling in the air as the long awaited competition was about to get started.

    The official started the ten count down and once the countdown reach ten a gin shot was fire and all the pod was through opened and all the contestant came running out including li Ming and Jiang Nian, Jiang Nian taking the lead clearly and couldn't help but stroke the mane of Rainbow as she continued running while li Ming was still entangled with other rider at her back. Rainbow took the lead for the first lap of the race but began to lose energy and momentum so others rider began to close the distance between them and eventually caught up with them, the race was split into two group during the fourth lap with Jiang Nian still struggling to maintain her stand in the front group while Li ming was still far behind.

    They finally reach fifth lap which was the deciding lap and Jiang Nian had slip into the third position,she panic and adrenaline rushed toward her muscles and she began to imitate how she watched on movies horse riding which helped increased her pace to second place but they had already passed the finished line when she planned to regained her first position. She was satisfied that at the very least she got a silverware to show for, they were paraded on the front of the crowd and were presented with their medal. Jiang Nian learn that li Ming took fifteen placed which was a good ranking among rookie, it was then that they all realized that they hadn't check the winner prize for the first, second and third place but now wasn't the best moment to check it as they were surrounded by reporter who was holding their camera to get a glance at them.

   Jiang Nian granted interview to various reporter before she was called backstage by the organizers of the event, her and the other who got first and third spot were placed to gather in a room waiting for the family head that was in charge running the ranch. The waited for a while which looked like a long time before the door suddenly was flung opened, they was a row of escort assisting a old man to the room. all their grievance of waiting too long instantly vanished into air as they waited slowly for him to get seated.
