He says and I look up at him, eyes still wet from the tears streaming down my cheeks, heart freshly broken from the public humiliation and betrayal that was Lucas's breakup. I can faintly make out the first droppings of snow floating magically under the light of the street lamps. It's that time of the year, a time for wool coats, a time for relaxing, none of which I'll be doing. "I'm an orphan with a wicked aunt and a boyfriend who left her because she has nothing to her name, how could I possibly help you?" I say another sob escaping my lips. "Marry me" he replies and my eyes widen in anger. Is he mocking me?. I look into the eyes of this stranger and see he's dead serious. "I need a wife, you need a home, marry me and you'll have all you want". I nod.

A Snowy Marriage (A Christmas agreement)

A collective gasp ripples through the crowd and I turn my head immediately looking for the cause.

I'm guessing that I'm also something of a gossip and I and I chuckle at my own actions. I look around trying to find the source of the of surprise that everyone is looking at but the moment my eyes lands on it, the moment my eyes land on this person, a similar shock goes through me.

A shock that I cannot even explain because I can't explain why he will also be going for the fighting pits.

For some reason it makes my stomach form a deep pit and it also surprises me that I am scared for him.

"Ooooh, there's going to be a little bit of a problem here" Arden says as she whispers to me.

Damianos has steadily made his way towards the fighting pit, he is standing really really close to Adrian now but the both of them still end up ignoring each other.

"Why didn't he also employ someone else to fight for him?" I asked confused at the whole thing but Arden simply looks at me and smiles.

"Would the two best fighters in the house of winter employ someone else to fight for them?

It will simply look like a shame and a stain on their reputation" she says.

For a moment, I am lost, for a good minute I am totally lost because I don't understand what she's talking about.

"What are you even saying?" I ask her and she shakes her head as she laughs.

"Just trust me on this one, the only person who is truly an opponent for Adrian is Damen".

"I thought you guys said that he just arrived here recently" I say, "then exactly how can you know all this?", but almost immediately the scene plays out in my head.

The scene of an angry Adrian, as he realises he has been tricked out of his inheritance by no one else than his fiancee, and then he finally sees the guy who is also claiming to be related to him, he sees this the guy who has suddenly emerged as some really really distant cousin, and who has stolen his fiancee and all his assets from him.

I don't really consider Adrian as someone who encourages physical violence that much but still, if I was the one, if it was me, I would have simply fought for what I thought was right, and everyone knows that boys are sometimes irrational anyways.

He could have not known the full facts of everything and he had simply ended up starting a fight with Damen.

"How did it end?' I ask Arden and it seems she catches on to my question quite easily.

"With both of them in the intensive care unit" she says and I open my eyes in shock.

"It was that bad" I ask her and she nods her head.

"Charlotte practically became famous because of that, they are simply magnificent when they fight. They fight like they're dancing...... Just with a considerably larger amount of blood on the floors".
