leaned towards Gustavo's ear.
Gustavo adjusted his cap well.
Minutes later they started Draco's hearing, they took over to the stand and told him to swear, after that the prosecutor went over to the front of the court and presented his case, Mr. Bruce also went forward and presented his case, then the prosecutor lawyer started asking Draco questions,
"So tell the court, does the narcotics belong to you or not?" The prosecutor asked staring at Draco.
"Like I have told you guys more than a million times now, I don't know who they belong to, it might have gotten into my car by accident," Draco answered.
That's a brilliant answer, I am glad he is not a snitch.
"So you are telling the court that, the police just pulled you over and found 49 pounds of Coke in your car trunk and none of it belongs to you, who does it belongs to them?" The lawyer asked.
"I don't know," Draco responded.
"Your honor this man is lying!" The prosecutor yelled.
"Objection your honor, how dare the prosecutor call my client a lier!" Mr. Bruce yelled as he stood up from the chair.
"Objection overruled!" The Judge yelled as he hit his hammer on his desk.
"Does the prosecutor has any evidence that the drugs belong to him?" the judge asked.
"We don't have any evidence, your honor," the prosecutor answered.
"Okay, everyone should go back to their seats while I make my decision," the judge said.
I leaned over to Gustavo and whispered, "The case is looking great for us,"
"Yeah," he muttered.
A couple of minutes later, the judge hits his stick on his desk.
"Since there is no evidence to prove that he is the owner of the drugs, but they were found in his custody,
"I hereby sentence him to 5 years in prison, and also the drugs will be confiscated by the FBI," the judge stated.
I felt furious immediately he said that 5 years in prison and they still collected the drugs, not only did I lose Draco to prison, I also lost a lot of money, I will have to pay El Chapo for the drugs somehow, I thought.
Minutes later, the cops were escorting Draco out of the courtroom, he looked over to where Gustavo and I were seated, then they took him out of the room.
Gustavo and I walked out of the courthouse, I told Gustavo, let's go wait outside the lawyer's car, he parked his car in the court garage, Gustavo and I stood close to the car, minutes later, the lawyer walked over to his car,
"Hey Mr. Bruce," I said.
"What's up?" He replied.
"I thought you were going to do your best, what was that in there," I said with my brows twisted together.
"You saw what happened, that was beyond my power, the judge already gave his judgment, and I already told you something like this was going to happen," he replied.
"Okay Mr. Bruce, see you later then," I..
