Chapter 77- Awake.

Raina's POV.

I felt someone hugging me tightly, filling me with warmth, because I felt chilly at the same time.

I felt comfortable with the arms holding me tight, I sighed turning trying to break free, but I was snuggled closer.

I tried opening my eyes, but I felt a little weak, I didn't know who held me, I perceived the scent I was always used to and I realised the person holding me tightly was Bas.

I wondered why he did that when I wasn't running away or going far away from him.

I chuckled softly as I mused about how he could behave threatening, with his dominating attitude, but he was exceptionally sweet to me.

For another weird reason, I was feeling pains  in my body, and I didn't know why, I shook him slightly and he wasn't budging.

I shook him again, but I couldn't even get a reply, he still laid down the way he was, holding me tightly, I laughed, if I told him, he would deny and laugh.

I opened my eyes slowly and I squinted at the light from the balcony.

"Bas, can you make way please." I told him in a soft voice praying he heard me.

"Bas, I need to get up."I said again.

"Raina?, Raina?" He stood up with a start staring at me weirdly, he came closer to me  looking at me for a long time and shaking his head.

"I must be dreaming again, since I've held you every night before sleeping, so I imagine this." Bas mumbled slowly.

"What's going on?, What are you imagining?" I asked him genuinely confused about what he was saying.

"You're even talking, wow I must be going crazy." He smacked his head twice.

I stood up, my feet slightly jelly, "for a weird reason I can't feel my legs." I mused pouting slightly.

He came closer looking at me over and over, I kept raising my brows in confusion, I didn't even understand why he did all that, it was so funny to me.

"So you're really awake?" Bas said pinching himself.

"Yes, I am" I said when he came closer, I took his face in my hands, holding him softly and ruffling his hair, he breathe in my hands holding them tightly and pressing them closer to his face, he sighed when I ruffled his hair again, "now can you explain to me what's going on?, Why are you surprised I'm awake?" I asked and he blinked.

Standing up he went to the bedstand and got his phone, "send Margarita up." He said and dropped the phone running back to me.

"I'm so glad you're awake, I'm the happiest vampire ever." He said with a beam, I nodded too still confused.

I looked at the door and saw a woman walk in, she looked like a middle aged woman, but strangely enough, she didn't look like a vampire or a human to me.

"I'm so happy she's awake." She said and I blinked trying to recall where she spoke to me before, her voice was sounding oddly familiar.

She came close to me placing her hands on my cheeks, my forehead, my hands, arms and shoulders.

She brought out something from her bag and tested me with it, "she's alright now." The woman said.

"Thanks Margarita, she can't remember anything though." Bas said softly.

"She will, It's part of her defense mechanism to forget things for a while, she'll remember soon in no time." Margarita said to Bas and he nodded.

She looked at me once again and smiled before walking away, she stopped at the door looking back at me with a smile, "she's really a fighter like Evelyn said." Margarita said leaving the room.

I wondered why Lyn told her I was a fighter, and I couldn't think of what I fought, I tried remembering if I got into trouble or hurt myself in anyway or manner.

I smiled at Bas who rushed to sit close to me  on the bed, he kept looking at me like I had a new face, or he saw me for the first time, he looked at me like I was his muse and he was going to remember my face, and draw on his expensive art.

He kissed my forehead till I lost count of how many times he did it, "thank you so much." He said and I nodded absently.

"I don't even know what you're thanking me for, but you're welcome." I said offering him a small smile.

"Thank you for surviving." He said, looking at me in awe, I laughed wondering why he was being this way.

"You're welcome, I guess." I mused softly.

He kissed my lips softly, and I kissed him back, it felt like I missed him for ages and I didn't know why it felt that way, he kissed me more urgently now and I returned the kiss, he stopped for a while and smiled.

I turned around immediately, when I heard the bedroom door open and I saw Lyn run in squealing, Gabriel came behind her with a big smile. I saw Matteo walk in with a smile too and a little dance, I laughed.

"I'm so happy you made it." Lyn squealed hugging me, she tried to carry me but Bas stopped her, and she pouted.

"She's still weak, so don't juggle her too much." He said sternly.

"Yes boss." She said offering a mock salute and everyone laughed.

"Hi." Matteo said and I mouthed Hi to him.

"Thanks for waking up," Gabriel said throwing a glance to Bas who threw turned his eyes to me immediately and Matteo barked a laugh, "for he has been an insufferable bastard." Gabriel added and Bas glared at him.

"What I'm not lying." Gabriel shrugged.

"You've all seen her, you can now go, I want privacy." Bas said and Lyn, Gabriel and Matteo looked at him shaking their heads.

"Gabriel was right, he's been an insufferable bastard." Matteo said, and Gabriel gave him a thumbs up, they all left leaving me and Bas in the room alone.

I turned around bumping into his elbow and I winced in pain, I massaged my forehead slowly, he gasped looking at me with eyes full of worry.

"I'm fine, don't fret, it's just a mistake." I said.

He nooded laying me down on the bed and lying down beside me, he made sure I faced him and he stared at me, blinking most times like he was dreaming.

I touched his forehead and squinted slowly when I felt a sharp pain in my legs, I looked down and saw a bandage wrapped around my legs, I frowned touching it, wondering where I hurt myself.

I turned back to him and shifted in pain as I felt a sharp pain in my ribs, I stared at my clothes and saw that I was dressed in his shirt, and shorts, I looked closer and saw a bandage wrapped around my ribcage.

It then dawned on me suddenly, the memories came flooding like it normally did, I could remember everything perfectly, how I was kidnapped after Bas dropped me off to go hunt after the game I attended, I remembered blacking out and waking up in a strange environment, I remembered when I tried escaping and didn't succeed, I remember being hurt with a blade and how I was stomped upon by the male who wasn't a human or vampire, I stilled when I remembered the Vampire and how he tried feeding from me when he came, how Bas came when I needed him the most, I remember seeing Lyn, Gabriel and Matteo faintly before fainting in Bas's arms.

I remember Bas taking me to a Cabin, hugging me tightly because I was shivering, and I remember being unconscious, I remember him handing me over to Lyn, Gabriel and Matteo, I remember how weak and faint I was feeling.

I remember being in his room and his dad checking me, and that's when I remembered where I heard Margarita' s voice for the first time, it was in this room when she came to treat me. I remembered everything that happened when I was slightly unconscious and I remembered darkness hitting me and I blacked out after that.

"I remember everything now." I said softly looking at Bas who smiled at me.

"How long have I been unconscious?" I asked.

"Today makes it one week." Bas said softly.

"A week?" I asked with a loud gasp, I now understood why Lyn, Gabriel and Matteo said they were happy I was up and how Bas reacted when I woke up, I couldn't believe I blacked out for a week.

"I'm sorry for making you worry so much." I said holding his face.

He brought his hands and held my hands tightly to his face with a smile, "no thank you, you were in trouble because of me, so I'm happy you survived." He said.

"Don't beat yourself up," I said placing a soft kiss on his lips and he smiled, "you didn't cause this." I said.
