Chapter 63

"Stop the fucking car," Stephan panicked but Matteo didn't pay attention to him as he could hear the panic in his voice, rather he speed past Gustavo heading towards the front of a mansion. The door was so huge and some security men in black were seen lurking around waiting patiently for Gustavo to get to them but when they saw Matteo's car in front they panicked and brought out their guns pointing at the car.

"Stop the fucking car," Sarah was the one to scream now at the sight of the guns pointed at them. She held on to her sit at the speed rate Matteo was taking as he drove passed them towards the other side of the house, she stared at him wondering where the fuck he was taking them to, even the men who had pointed their guns stared at the car as it passed by with a confused look.

Travis who was driving behind them was shocked to see Matteo speeding up in front of Gustavo, he wondered what was up. He pressed his earbud and waited to hear any details but nothing came up. 

"Is everything okay?" he decided to ask instead.

"Dawn was poisoned."

Poisoned? Travis thought. How was that possible when she had not eaten anything since they got here. It was a good thing that they were already here so Sarah could examine her.

Stephan stared at Dawn, his hands found hers as he held on to them tightly. He didn't care if they were bloody all that mattered right now was her and their baby. 

His baby.

He had always been in different about having a baby or being a father but the first time his feelings towards that started to change was when Dawn had left him, the second time was when she had experienced a panic attack and now he was questioning his thoughts.

He wondered how she had gotten poisoned when they didn't eat anything but only drank that Champagne and even Dawn didn't drink that champagne, so how did she get poisoned? Did she eat something or take something without his knowledge?

How come she was the only one vomiting but Ivy wasn't here so it was quite possible that Ivy might be in trouble as well.

Dawn stared at him but it seemed like she was trying to stay calm, which was a good thing for Stephan because he wasn't used to situations like this, he didn't know what to say to keep Dawn at ease because even he himself wasn't at ease but over the years he had learned to suppress his emotions and feelings to the point where his face was always blank.

Matteo stopped some distances away from the main door and Sarah could see another door in view, she rushed out of the car alongside Stephan. He rushed to Dawn's side of the car opened it and carried her in his arm bridal style.

Matteo came down from his car and they could see Gustavo approaching them yelling and speaking a language they didn't understand, it took him some while to finally notice Dawn in Stephan's hand and her mouth filled with blood.

"Here," he motioned them into the other door where Matteo had parked as they entered the kitchen, Sarah covered her nose quickly as she could smell something awful as a maid passed with the trash bowing her head and rushing out immediately to throw it out.

Every where was in disarray, dirty plates on the counter and different ingredients placed on the table. They moved pass maids and cooks who seemed busy making different types of dishes. Sarah wondered if an event was on going as everyone seemed so occupied. The maids and cooks bowed to Gustavo and them as they passed murmuring at the sight of Dawn in Stephan's hand.

"What is going on?" one of the maids whispered to another as she chopped the vegetables, it wasn't a new thing for Gustavo to come in with stranger faces but it was unusual for him to come in with their boss daughter injured, even if she was injured she was always still fit and would never take the back door but the front door.

"Maya my child," one of the older cook sighed but Gustavo waved her off with a warning stare as she backed off and went back to work. Once they were out of the kitchen, Gustavo lead them through one passage into a room.

Travis and Olivia were just highlighting from their car, Travis followed them quickly so as not to miss his way.

They entered into the room as Stephan laid Dawn on the bed, Sarah rushed to her side while Matteo walked quickly to the window to open the curtain as the room was dark. He stood at the window with folded hands as his eyes caught sight of someone who looked like Dawn, he couldn't see her clearly because she had her side facing him but he could swear that if Dawn wasn't inside this room with them he would have said it was actually Dawn who was outside right now wearing a black jumpsuit, giving a dark emo vibe and talking to one of the security guards.

He stared at Dawn then back at the lady, she busied herself with yelling at the security guard and pointing at something but Matteo couldn't see it clearly, he was about to look away when she gave the security guard a tight slap across the face and walked away.

It seemed Stephan's theory of Dawn having a twin was actually true after all.

Gonzales had an event currently on going when he had invited Stephan to come over to his mansion, the moment he had seen Dawn he had thought he was dreaming for a moment. It took him some seconds to compose himself and act like he was not amazed at the fact that a woman who looked exactly like his daughter Maya was standing beside Stephan.

He found himself laughing at how he had easily been fooled by his wife and the mid wife into believing that she only gave birth to a daughter for him.

Back then he had hated the idea of having a daughter, he had always longed for a son and he didn't hide it from anyone or even his wife. Countless times he informed her about it and in between he cracked silly jokes about killing the child if it was a girl. It seemed his wife had taken it serious and decided to do what he would have never imagined of her.

Not only did she file for a divorce after handing him one of his daughter, she had the audacity to go ahead to stay with another man and give the man his other child as his despite the fact that they were still legally married even in her death she was still married to him. It was a good thing she was dead now because he would have headed straight to her house for her to give him an explanation as to why she decided to do these to him.

He didn't know how valuable and precious his wife was to him until she left him, he thought he would be able to move on but he wasn't able to and in between his struggle to forget his wife, he passed on his aggressive nature to his daughter.

His little princess.

He had sent her off to stay with one of his cousins in hopes that he would never hear of her again as the sight of her reminded him so much of his wife so much, she didn't even try to take his face she had instead taken her mother's face and her smile.

One day he didn't know what had gotten into him but he decided to go and greet his cousin. He was shocked to see that his little princess had grown up to become a fierce lion. His cousin had molded her into a deadly beast sometimes it would seem that his men were afraid of his daughter than him.

He slowly started to become proud of her and to accept that their was nothing wrong with having a daughter instead of a son but the moment he opened his mouth to announce to his household that he had a daughter. the news spread like wild fire and went beyond his four walls that even his enemies now knew about it.

He knew it was one of his workers who had snitched on him but he was less concerned about that, he knew Maya was capable of taking care of herself but his enemies wasted no time in showing that they were fully aware of the information as they did everything in their power to get rid of his daughter.
