Chapter Twenty Two

Annie don't forget. 7pm sharp. He said as he made his way to the exit.

See you ladies tomorrow. He said before leaving their view.

Amanda thought his actions could not get any worse, but each of his cruel and disrespecting act topped the previous.

She had to get used to this, used to him making sure to do or say things that would get to her with every opportunity he had. She had to come to the reality that her fantasized life story has ended before it even started.

Maybe Ray never actually did like her. Maybe she failed to listen to the warning he had subconsciously given her. Raymond was a playboy, a rich one at that. She wished that was all, but no! He was was sculpted perfectly. He had all the physical and material things a man could ask of.

She should have known better than falling for him, he also gave her every reason not to. Lang had warned her too, but she listened to her heart instead. Heart that had been left broken now.

Ray was now settled in his hotel room, which was a thirty minutes drive to Blazzers. He had a warm bath, had them serve his food before he retired to the bed.

Ray was grateful that Karen was around, he didn't wish to deal with Amanda in any way. Karen was a sweet soul so he knew they would work it out around each other. He had a little recap of the day. How livid he was and how he wished to avoid anything that would ever get him in that state.

He was hoping that he wouldn't stay more than three week in London. The plan was to setup a much more bigger way house and get it functioning.

He still didn't understand himself and why he somehow missed her. How could someone put you down so much and yet still feel like you want them under your arm. He hated this feeling and everything associated with it. He wouldn't fall into that trap again. Not the second time.

He knew what he needed. Exactly what he needed!

He picked up his phone and made the call.

Alright, take care. See you tomorrow. Karen said as she left Amanda to her self and closed for the day.

Yea, see ya. Amanda responded.

Amanda now left alone. she sighed as she let out a heavy breath.

As if she had held her breath all this while. She moved her hair back, tucked to her ears and different thought ran through her mind.

Yea, maybe I can do this. She seem nice. Not totally bad she thought.

And maybe all Ray's cruel act could get her to get over him quickly and she would focus on her job.

She had packed her things up. Left for Annie's office.

Annie had asked her to wait a couple minutes as she needed to finish up with the work at hand.

While Annie worked they had engaged In series of conversations and she found out that Annie was half Indian half English. Born here, but moved to India at ate seven before returning to England for university. They had conversations mostly related to the different countries they originated from.

Annie was a nice cheerful lady. She could agree that apart from Ray, every other person made working there a little easy for her.

Annie was done as she drove her to the hotel. Which wasn't far from Blazzer.

She had asked about her luggage and Annie informed her thet they had been moved to the hotel already.

They got to the place, wasn't bad at all. She must confess. Nice, comfy, exotic! She must confess that since she started working with Blazzer she had been repeatedly spoilt with nice five star locations. She doubted if she could keep up with the life style if she lost this job anytime soon.

Annie had asked her to order whatever she would like to have but the company had placed her on a no exceeding two thousand pounds on food in a day.

I don't fully understand pounds, but I don't think I could exceed that in a two days. She said with a little giggle.

Yea, we are just making sure you don't go hungry for any reason. Annie responded.

The driver will pick you up for work every day but you go home by your self. Annie explained.

Amanda didn't really understand the logic behind that, so yes of course she had to ask why.

Not that she was entitled to their service, besides, if she was in Canada, she wouldn't be getting any privileges at all. But she had to ask because she didn't understand the logic behind that.

If he could pick me up, why couldn't he drop me? She asked.

Yes, that question was very much expected. Annie said.

So, the thing is, if you are picked up and dropped everyday, you might never actually get to know your way.

So the idea is we don't want you late because you couldn't find your way to work. But after work, you have the time to make mistake and find your self.

What I'm trying to say in essence is that we want you to know and be familiar with the area.

Oh, okay. Totally got that. Amanda responded as she moved to her luggage, opening it.

I guess this will be all for today. The driver will be here every 7:30 in the morning. So please get ready according to this time.

Got that. She responded.

Amanda had showered, dressed up and went to the hotel restaurant to eat.

She could have easily asked them to serve her in her room, but she had preferred to eat in their restaurant. She was simply tired of staying alone and wallowing in her sadness. Her earlier outdoor coffee wasn't bad at all, so she didn't mind looking out so she could think less of her heart break.

She wore a short and a t-shirt.

The restaurant wasn't bad, and there wasn't too much people in it. She waved at the waiter as he came and took her order. She was looking through the magazine which was obviously kept for guest before she saw Karen walking in.

She had tried hiding behind the magazine, but Karen had sighted her.

Hey beautiful. She said with her usual free spirited attitude.

Hey. She pulled down the magazine and greeted back.

I wasn't expecting to see you here. She said, pulling out the chair In front of her and having a seat.

Why would she not ask her if she could seat with her? Not like she was gonna say no because it was definitely empty.

Karen was a very announced extrovert. She was fun she must confess, but she was a little too much for her.

What are you having, Karen asked with a little excitement.

Beef, with vegetables salad and cheese. Amanda responded.

Oh, lots of calories. Karen said.

Karen was obviously a very plain and direct lady. She guessed that was actually a good attribute, but she didn't need her telling her how her food had too much calories.

Before I turned vegan, I literally couldn't do without cheese. Karen said.

I miss it, I must confess, but it's for the better. She added.

Amanda didn't know if to respond with "oh, okay" or "oh, good for you" both didn't just sound okay.

Why did you stop eating beef? Amanda asked, well not that she actually cared to know, but she didn't want to awkwardly seat there in silent.

The waiter had come with her dish, before taking Karens order. Which she made sure was calorie free.

So yea, I am a model. A run way model. I'm known more in Canada, but I hope to go international soon. she responded.

Amanda had confirmed her analysis of her not coming from around there but from Canada.

Her vegan or model story was the least of her problems. The only question she wanted answers to so bad was "how she met Ray". But that was a totally out of pocket question. It would look like the Ray in question wasn't both their boss. And the most normal and expected way to meet your boss was at work, probably during an interview.

So, why don't you tell me about your self. Karen asked as she reached the wine in the centre of their table. Opening it and turning it into one of the wine glasses on the table.

Do you care? She enquired but Amanda had said no.

Karen took a sip from her drink, before taking her attention back to Amanda.

So what motivated you to move to Canada? She asked again

Amanda and Karen had a bit of a lengthy discussion that night. She would like to say that she didn't like Karen or her very talkative personality, but that would not be the truth. Karen was really out spoken and friendly.

For few seconds that night she felt she could really ask her about she and Ray and she would answer honestly. But she didn't want her thinking she was interested in Ray or anything of sought. Ray had warned her to not discuss that with anyone, but that wasn't really the reason she didn't want to ask. She didn't want her presuming that her anger or every move was due to Ray, so she had that very interactive dinner with Karen with mentioning Ray.

They both left the hotel, back to their rooms. Karen's room was before hers, so they bead each other good by as Amanda went further to locate her room.

She showered, now settled in her bed as her phone rang.
