Chapter Forty Two; It could be love!

She loved this man, if not more than her self, so she was scared of making this decision in a hurry or based on lust.

She broke her gaze from him, looking down at the table before bringing it up to catch a glimpse of him again.

"Okay, I will go home and think all this through..."

Okay, that is fine as Ray held onto her hand even tighter.

They returned to the office and in no time it was soon time to close for the day.

Ray had offered to give her a ride home since she couldn't drive yet due to the fact that she needed a driver's license.

They soon hit the road, she felt a little exhausted and needed a warm coffee so she couldn't actually wait to get back home.

"We could get you a driver if you wanted." He said.

"Oh no, I don't actually like being driven, I just mostly do not have a choice.

I will be applying for my driver's license tomorrow."

"so you can drive. I guess?" He enquired.

"yes, though I never drove here, just back home."

"mmm," Ray let out as he wondered what her life was like in Nigeria. She didn't act the way the media portrayed Africans. Though she had a mixed parents, but since she was born and brought up in Nigeria, all she knew and the way she acted would be like that of a typical Nigerian.

She spoke well and efficiently. Though occasionally her Nigerian accent does pop up but he liked it.

They soon arrived at her new apartment. She grabbed her bag, as he proceeds with making her way out of the car.

"You must be tired and it's really chilly out here. Maybe you should come in and have a warm cup of coffee," she said.

It was actually extremely chilly that day, so he couldn't reject the offer. Moreover, even without any offer, he would be willing to spend some time with her.

They both made their way into her new apartment.

"one second, I need to change," Amanda said as she made her way to the room. It was warm inside and the place now looked Properly set up. He loosened his tie before sitting on the couch.

After about three minutes, Amanda showed up wearing loose grey pajamas and and a black crop top.

"I'm in the kitchen, it will take just a moment," she said as she passed to the kitchen.

After about two minutes, he heard her voice again.

"Hey, I will be done in just a while."

He stood, moving to the kitchen as she was just adding the warm water to the different mugs.

He stood admiring her as he wondered if she could cook. He would like to taste her food someday.

"Can you cook?" He found himself asking.

She looked up at him, now wearing a smile.

"you know where I come from, an average young lady is expected to know how to cook. So I guess I didn't have many choices than to know how to cook," she said before staring the coffee to mix.

"Do you enjoy cooking?"

"For my self, yes. Here you go." she said as she passed him his warm cup of coffee.

He reached for the mug, taking a sip.

"Mmm. Not bad at all."

"Thanks." She responded before taking a sip of her coffee.

"We should go to the living room and maybe we can watch Netflix and chill"

They got to the living  room, Amanda was trying to pick what they would watch. She asked which he preferred between two movies. She desperately sounded like she wanted to watch one which was tilted; Love,  Lust, and Cruelty, so he went for that one.

She went inside to get a blanket so they would cover up and feel cozy. She turned off every lightening, leaving just the rays from the TV which was quite enough. She went to the kitchen and came back with a box of cookies to go with the movie.

They sat close to each other as they placed the duvet over them.

The film was great so far, the plot was well thought and he was enjoying it so far.  He got a little tired of sitting up,  so he moved to the edge of the couch,  resting his head.  Amanda moved close to him,  placing her head on his chest and the rest of her body on him too.

They continued the movie as Ray found himself unconsciously caressing Amanda's hair.

The movie ended with the lead characters sharing a passionate kiss. The dimmed lightening of the room with how Amanda lay of him was tempting enough and now with that closing scene,  it made his battles almost impossible.

"I should be on my way. " He said as Amanda now looked up at him. "

He could see a little disappointment on her face as if he had just said something heart wrenching.  But maybe he was just wrong, maybe he was projecting how he felt towards her because he hated saying those words.  He hated thinking about leaving her side.  He wanted her in his arm Just like she was during the movie.

She was beautiful even through the rays of the TV. Her eyes were shiny and on him.  Her full push lips were very visible and all he wanted was to taste them.

He had missed her,  missed kissing her lips and exploring every part of her.

"yea, it's pretty Late she said." Before she proceeded to try leaving his side.

"Hey,"  he said before he immediately moved to her, engulfing her lips in his.

It was soft just like he remembered. The kiss was intense and filled with emotions, he grabbed her waist as she sat on him.  One of her legs on the ground and the other on the couch. The kiss even grew more intense as Amanda wrapped her arm on his neck and the other dipped in his hair.  He loved how he felt within himself, her skin was soft and smooth against his hand.  His hands were on her back now, on her bare skin as the other was dipped in her hair.  Their tongue soon sort each other out and they played with each other.

She tasted good!  Good was an understatement as this was way beyond good!

Amanda wished she could resist this,  she wished she could resist this man. But only if wishes were horses!  She was wrapped in his arm. She was wrapped happily. His hair was oily and soft, it had quite a different scent from his body and both scented magnificent! Why was he almost perfect? Why did he posses everything she wanted in a man and yet she felt almost everything she didn't want to feel for a man for him. Why did it seem like he was made for her and yet felt like she couldn't have him.

What she felt wasn't ordinary. It was love and she only wished that the love she was developing for him would be kind to her.

She missed his kisses,  his embrace. And this kiss could feel the gap of all the days they were in good term because this felt magical.  It was intense, she forgot herself in his arms as she wished to never let go.

Her legs had begun to feel vibrations.  A phone was ringing!  His phone was ringing!

"Shit! "she heard him mutter. Their kiss and a good time had been cut short.

He reached into his pockets,  taking out the phone and answering the call.

"Hey." he said as he answered.

The call didn't last much though she noticed whoever it was said something that seemed a little unsettling to him.

"Okay sure,  I will see you whenever you finally decide. " He said before he ended the call.

Amanda had already gotten up from him as she waited for him to be done on the phone.

Ray got up, putting his phone back in his pocket.

"it's really getting  dark," she said.

Raymond wasn't sure how to feel about the call he received. It wasn't bad news per se but wasn't a good one either.  He was glad that call had come in because he didn't want to hurry her this time around.  He wanted her to be able to think well, but it was way too obvious that she was fighting the same demon as him.

But either way,  he was learning patience, so he preferred to let it wait till she spells it out.  He didn't like leaving her side but he didn't want to act based on just what he wanted. So he made his way to the exit as she stop just before him because he had turned around to face her entrance and facing her. She was standing by the entrance.

" you bring home made food for lunch sometimes,  yes? "

"Yes, " she answered.

"Do you mind serving a box for me too?" he asked.

"Yes,  I will be delighted."

"I want the exact  same thing that you will be having." He said with a little smile.

Amanda Smiled,  moving closer and giving him a kiss on his cheek.

"Good night. " she said.

"Good night. " he responded.
