"I can't let myself always sit here and not do anything, I will get bored."
'always sit here? Did she plan to come here always? Didn't she have a firm that needed her attention?
"So, you plan to work here very often?" Amanda asked.
She noticed Rebecca look up at her, giving her a look that she wasn't quite sure what it was.
"A little diversity will help my mental health at this point of my life, so, yes, I would love to work from a different work setting and environment.
"Oh, great," Amanda responded.
"So, what is it, am to help you with?" Amanda inquired.
"Oh, yes. Would you have me unburden you of some little duties and I would gladly fill in for you? You know, just for the time being..."
Amanda was beginning to see through her intentions. She just wanted a means to get closer to Ray. She wanted to do some of her roles in other to be with Ray.
Well, she had absolutely no problem switching roles with her, but since she was employed for that specific role she couldn't just hand it out.
Rebecca sure knew about her and Ray, but why was she just acting like she didn't detest her? For someone who was still undeniably in love with Ray, she definitely had something up her sleeves.
She still exuded the same elegance and class, but was now, she was more polite and smiled at her while she spoke.
"Okay, what would you have me do?" Amanda asked knowing it wasn't her place or Rebecca's place to change her work jurisdiction, but she was very willing to escape having to see Raymond often."
"Draft a few roles for me, then submit it to Raymond, tell him it was my request, then he will just give a go-ahead."
"Okay, is there any particular thing you would love to be there? Like a necessary role, you would like to carry out?"
She knew that considering her past history with Raymond, Rebecca would wonder why she was very willing to assist her on her quest to take her job and get closer to Raymond, But, asking for some of her duties would only help her overcome whatever it was that she felt for Raymond.
"Uhh..." Rebecca was giving her last question a thought.
"Yes, I want to go on outside business trips with him."
"Oh, sure," Amanda responded.
"Yes, that's all for now."
"Alright," Amanda said as she made her way to the exit.
Amanda was now back in her office.
She quickly drafted out almost all her roles that required her to meet Raymond. She would still do most of the work but Rebecca would be the point of contact in passing information to Raymond. And that was exactly how she wanted it.
She forwarded it to Raymond's PC for approval but till he left, she didn't get a feedback.
Working that day was intense, there was tension at every corner except when she went to speak to Lang.
It was the next day, Ray was early to work and he had responded and approved the document she sent the day before. He approved everything but the one thing Rebecca had specifically asked for was struck out. They had added a little Note at the end of the approval.
"Rebecca is not to go for any outside trip with me, or with any of the staff, or even alone. Her roles specifically lie within this building."
Another document was attached to the one she drafted the day before, this one had to do with legal obligations and signing. The document made sure to note that every role that is carried out by Rebecca was specifically requested and authorized by Rebecca Boucher. She was to sign on three different copies, having one to herself while the rest two handed to Tyler who knew what to do with it.
Everything was done as he requested and she went ahead to submit it to Tyler. She spoke with Lang briefly before she went into Tyler's office.
Not totally strange, but she was surprised to see Raymond in Tyler's office. He must have gone through the interconnecting door.
"You got something for me?" Tyler asked, sighting the documents she had with her.
She was beginning to feel hot inside, beginning to lose her speech ability because why did Ray have his eyes fixed on her like that?
She tried not to look in his direction, but she still noticed his gaze following her.
"Yes," she answered, reaching before his desk and now close to Raymond who was resting on Tyler's office table.
"What is it?" He inquired further.
"Rebecca has signed these documents, they contain self-appointed roles and I was asked to hand these two copies to you."
"Oh, let me see... who asked you to?" He asked reaching out his hands to get the documents.
Amanda didn't know if to point at Raymond or to just say his name. To make the matter worse, Raymond still had his gaze on her.
"Uhh..." She was thinking of how to pass the information, but Tyler had moved his attention from the documents to her face and instantly understood her plight.
"Oh, it was Raymond?" He asked.
"Yes," she responded.
"Okay, this will be properly documented." He said looking down at the documents before flipping to the next page.
"Alright, thank you for this," he said dismissing her.
She went back to her dest and in a few minutes, Raymond called her telecom and asked for her attention.
"Yes..." She said, announcing her presence.
Raymond looked up at her, she looked beautiful that day, he must confess. It also looked like she did a bit of extra make up that day.
'just a day after she officially broke up with him she began to wear make up?' he thought.
'or was it for someone else?' The thought of her wanting to look beautiful for someone else caused his heart to ache. ' was her new boyfriend around Blazzers?' oh, he better not! Because his employee would never have such guts!
She wore a chiffon floral dress. The hands were the same size as the ones on a t-shirt, and the chest was cut straight leaving her cleavage a little exposed. It wasn't short, slightly below her knee, but it held her waist and her curves were showing despite the gown being loose and flayed.
He quickly snapped out of his thoughts, as he took his attention back to her face.
"Please seat" He put aside what he was on and was ready to have a conversation with her.
She seemed confused on why he would just call her and ask her to seat, but yea, it was a little confusing considering the state of their last encounter.
She reached the seat, rolling it out a little before seating on it.
It was hard to look at her face and not get carried away, and not think of other stuff that had nothing to do with Blazzer electronics.
"So, I think we should talk," he said before proceeding to rest on his chair.
Amanda didn't say anything, but she looked like she was not against having a talk with him.
"I will respect your decision, but I also want you to understand that you are still my assistant, my only assistant.
And I don't think you will seize to be that anytime soon except it was your decision."
We must maintain a co-operate relationship and a friendly one.
Rebecca can have some of your roles, but I want it clear that you know that the role of my assistant is your job and anytime I ask for your presence, I hope to get an immediate response.
Also, I'm happy if you have truly found the one who makes you happy."
Raymond tried to be happy for her, but no, he was not happy about that. He only wanted to maintain a cordial relationship with her because, at the end of the day, he still ended up in the same house with her, and during the day, she worked for him.
Most importantly, he wanted her comfortable so he wanted to create that great work environment for her.
"Thank you," she said.
"I will only do what you ask of me. I love working here and you are easy to work for, and I do not have any intention of leaving Blazzer."
"Good to know." He said seating up and freeing his tie a little bit.
"So I am safe to say that you are my employee and friend? " He asked with an eased tone.
"I guess so," she responded with a smile.
Ray looked towards the entrance where he felt a presence, It was Rebecca there with his coffee.
She wore a smile as she approached them. Ray wondered why he didn't strike out the coffee part from her letter. It looked crazy letting his ex-wife who wanted half of his company serve him coffee every day. What actually looked more crazy was Rebecca leaving her firm to come to serve him coffee and attend to his other needs.
Maybe Rebecca had somehow lost it. Maybe this was just a plot to get closer to him or even to Amanda.
If she was obsessed with him, then her closeness with him and Amanda wasn't safe.
Obsession does crazy things to people and drives them to also do crazy things which most of them can be dangerous.
Was Rebecca a dangerous psychopath?
