High Class Babe

It's a Saturday morning and Ify took to cleaning the house while Lanre washed the clothes. The both of them always do this interchangeably every Saturday. Either one will wash clothes or clean the house. But whosoever cleans the house, gets to cook for that day.

Ify noticed a dirty napkin on the counter, she took it to Lanre who was doing the laundry. Lanre exclaimed when Ify dropped the napkin. "Lanre! Just this thing and you are shouting, what if I packed all the rags in the house and brought them to you what will you do?" Ify asked.

"Please don't call it just this thing o! It is discouraging na! Look at the pile of clothes I have to wash!" Lanre said pointing at the mountain of clothes that has been heaped up by her side. Their clothes were much because they always wash only during the weekends, thereby saving dirty clothes through the week. "I'm thinking we should change this pattern of laundry and start washing our clothes twice every week!" Lanre suggested. Ify placed a finger on her lip and made a face that suggest she is thinking about it.

"Lanre, you are right, but you know we are in final year and it will be stressful for us doing that. We have projects and clearance to do na!" Ify said trying to outweigh the pros with the cons. Lanre shook her head, and with her hand, she made a notion that Ify was not thinking.

"The project and clearance you are bringing up are mere excuse. How many minutes will it take somebody to wash three days clothes? Please let's call a spade a spade and not shovel this time, sometimes we are free and we while away that time. We can actually make use of that free time to do the laundry and our Saturdays will no longer be that stressful". Lanre said. And Ify finally agreed to Lanre's reasoning. She made to leave and suddenly recalled something.

"Lanre, do you remember that my cousin I told you about that lives in Abuja?" Ify asked Lanre. Lanre nodded her head indicating she does remember.

"She's getting married on the 30th of  march which is next month and is exactly when we will be done with our exams!" Ify said to Lanre with a happy smile. "So?" Lanre asked uninterested as the only thing that was on her mind was to finish washing the clothes and go have some rest.

"She wants us to be a part of her bridal train! She specifically asked me to tell you that she would like for you to be a part of it. She likes you!" Ify said. Her teeth would have possibly reflected the sun if only she was standing outside and not in the bathroom where Lanre has chosen to do the laundry.

"Oh! Wow! Congratulations to her. So she likes me even when she doesn't know me? This one strong o!" Lanre said exclaiming at the end that it is beyond her imagination.

"I think you should chat her up later, because she was saying something like making you the special maid of honour! I don't know!" Ify said rushing it. Then she started to chew her mouth waiting for what Lanre would say.

"Hian! Hehehe! I think say na person when be your best friend you go make as your maid of honour? Which one this your cousin de pick me na?" Lanre said using Nigeria pidgin to express her surprise. She had asked if the maid of honour is not supposed to be the bride's friend. And that how come about the bride choosing her as her maid of honour, someone she doesn't know.

"Lanre calm down! Your blood too de hot! You know you are a fine girl na! You are beautiful and then you have long slender legs with your beautiful sharp eyes. She just like your appearance. You na high class babe for where beauty de na!" Ify said praising Lanre's beauty. She actually tried to make her understand that her cousin was looking for someone with extremely beautiful physique. And she is the perfect candidate.

Lanre twist her lips shakes her head to the left and then to the right. Then she said to Ify that she would think about it, but that her cousin should also chat her up. Ify gave Lanre a kiss on the cheek with gratitude knowing that Lanre would accept since she already said she will think about it. "Lanre, thanks a bunch!" Ify said running back to the kitchen.
