Your Own Beauty Palace

“What sort of question is that?” Anita asked. She was not expecting Lanre to ask her if she has been disappointed before. She was wondering if Lanre was wishing her disappointment or was just a mere question. She stood up from her bed where she was seated.

“What do you mean by asking me if I have been disappointed before?” Anita asked again. Lanre smiled. “What do you think?” Some make up artist can be very disappointing especially on your wedding day”. Lanre said to Anita. Then she told her the earlier she hands her her make up kit, the better it will be for them.

So Anita no more relented. She handed the make up kit to Lanre. The first thing Lanre did was to check if all she needed was in the box.

“Ok! I will go and attend to as many that I can attend to”. Lanre said to Anita and left. Anita felt Lanre was either good in a bad way or bad in a good way. She was just unpredictable. She was actually helping out to make the wedding cmbe a success.

Meanwhile, Lanre with the box of make up in her hand got to the other building where the girls were. On getting there four of the girls already had their bath. But they just finished. So she will have to wait for them to apply body lotion their skin first as well as dress up. So she can go ahead to make them up.

Lanre began with the first girl who was done dressing up. While applying the make up, the girl kept telling her what to do with her face. But Lanre did not give her a care. She was doing her job and she was doing it in a way she knows will be best. She would let anyone parade her on what to do.

“Wow! It is fine! You are good. Like you are barely done and I can see it coming out fine already”. One of the ladies said.

“Do you have your own beauty palace? Please where is it located at?” The same lady asked. She was already in love with Lanre’s work.

“I do not leave here in Abuja”. Lanre said to the young lady who in turn asked her where she lives if not in Abuja.

Lanre told her that she can’t actually tell her where she lives because she is not yet settled. One difficult question for a student to answer is the question of, “where do you live?” . If you say you live at school, it will sound like it is your permanent place. But you know during holidays, if you are asked where you live, you mention the place you live with your parents. Then when school reopens, you have moved again. Her position is even worse because she will be going to serve her country soon which is what all students done with first degree undergo. It is something compulsory. She has no clue where she will be by then.
