The Customer

Christian smirked when he realised what the workers and some of the customers there could be thinking.

“We look great together, don’t we?” He asked winking at them at the end. Then he went outside to meet Lanre who was already waiting by his car. He kissed her cheeks and then opened the door to the passenger’s side. Then he took his place at the driver’s seat and drove off the premises.

“So where is this place you are going to?” Christian asked. Lanre told him to just drive straight on. Once they get to the place she was going, she would ask him to stop. He suddenly stopped the car on the road. Lanre asked him why he stopped and that he could cause an accident stopping on the road. Vehicles were already horning from behind. While those that maneuvered and took another side, cursed.

“Where are we going?” He asked. Lanre decided to tell him that it was Novia plaza she was going to. He nods his head and drove on. Lanre told him that what he did was not wise. He did not say anything to her. Lanre thought he must be angry with her. But she didn’t know whether to apologise since she was not sure she did anything wrong.

Soon they arrived the plaza. Lanre asked Christian to wait for her in the car, but he followed her. She frowns at him.

“I told you to wait for me in the car”. Lanre said to Christian. He told her to just walk on and go to where she was heading to. He was walking on his own after all. Lanre sighed and just walked on while Christian followed from behind. She climbs the stairs and got to the second floor. Then she stopped right on front of a confectionery.

“Do you want to buy cake?” One of the girls that appeared to be working in the confectionery that is if she was not learning asked Lanre.

“Your madam, where is she?” Lanre asked the girl. She told Lanre her madam was inside, which is the owner of the confectionery. Therefore, Lanre asked the girl to go call out the madam. She was here only to see the madam. The girl went in and called her madam.

“Ma’am, a lady is outside waiting for you. She asked me to call you”. The girl said to her madam the owner of the confectionery.

“What does she say she want?” The owner of the confectionery asked the girl. She told her she was not sure, but that the person does look like someone who had come to give them cake contract. So the madam got out of the shop and went out to meet Lanre after washing cleaning her hands with a napkin because she was making dough for cake. She asked the girl to mix it while she goes to attend to their potential customer.

“Good afternoon o! Are you the customer….” The woman’s words stopped in her mouth when she saw who it was that was standing in front of her.
