Lanre left for Lagos after making it clear to her mother that Olamide will have to earn her respect and forgiveness. She did not care if he loses his job either. And she was never coming back to Ibadan. The last she was stepping her foot at home was when she went to get her bag. She felt relieved that Olamide was not in the house when she got there. If she had seen him before leaving for Lagos, she would have been disgusted. Nobody told her the reason her brother almost killed her. Perhaps if she was told, it would have driven her mad. And she would have sought for a way to get back at her brother immediately.
On getting to Lagos, Lanre learnt that someone had come to seek for job. She asked if the person had dropped her details and was immediately given the contact information of the girl who had come to seek for job, Ebitari.
“Sharon tell her to come let me interview her”. Lanre said. Aaron wondered how Lanre was going to interview the girl because she never did that with them. She just employed them randomly and allowed them start their job immediately.
Well, it seems they were indeed becoming more professional. Sharon called the young lady, Ebitari to come to the beauty parlour to see Lanre.
“Can’t I come tomorrow? Time has gone far and I just got home. The place I’m staying is very far from you people’s shop”. Ebitari said to Sharon over the phone. Sharon told her if she really needs a job, then she will stop giving excuse and rush back immediately. Ebitari thought about the probability of getting the job and also not getting it after rushing back to the beauty parlour. She decided to take the risk. She returned to the beauty parlour.
“She will be on her way soon”. Sharon said to Lanre. Lanre just nods and asked Sharon to sit down in her office. Sharon felt Lanre did not look too good, but she could not ask. Lanre barely says anything to them. But there was one question she could not stop herself from asking.
“Madam, I mean Lanre”…. Sharon immediately corrected herself after making the mistake of calling Lanre madam, Lanre already asked them not to call her that.
“Has Chidinma started learning work else where? She told me you want to register in two different place to learn different skills”. Sharon said to Lanre. Lanre’s eyes went dim. She looked away from Sharon.
“She’s now with her sister. They traveled”. Lanre said. Sharon made an “oh”.
Lanre crossed her fingers together with her eyes now focused on Sharon when she had finally gotten rid of the feeling of missing Chidinma.
“I want us to expand. But we have been in this place for only three months. Do you think we should relocate the shop or just manage till the rent expires?” Lanre asked Sharon. This was like sweet music to Sharon’s ears, her boss was confiding on her.
