Lanre and Ify are roommates and students of the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu state. While Lanre is a beautiful light skin girl from the city of Ibadan, Ify whose full name is Ifeoma is dark skinned from the coal city, Enugu and both are undergraduates studying Mass communication and are in their final year. 
Unlike Ify, Lanre is the wild type who has her eyes for extremely flashy things, so when a guy approached her and asked her to marry her, she thought he wanted to hinder her from leaving life to the fullest until she realised he was the governor's son and wanted him for herself. But he was already engaged to Ify. What price is Lanre willing to pay to marry the "Governor's Son"?

The Governor's Son Is Mine

K looks at Ify with horror in his eyes. He could not believe Ify would do such a thing and blackmail him. He never thought she could do such.

“Lanre and I are in a competition. And do you know, Lanre who promised never to let a man come between our friendship actually let you come between us. If I do not do this, she will take you away from me and I will be tagged a loser K. She’s sexy and all the guys always fall for her. Why would I let you go to somebody like her. So you see, if you do not do as I say, I will implicate your mother by letting this video out”. Ify said to K.

She told him how she will caption the video. “Wife of the Governor of Lagos state, Governor Adekunle Adewale demanding for funds from CBN: how corrupt could the Governor himself be?”

K held Ify’s hand trying to get the phone from her hand. She willingly gave it to him with a smile adorning her lips. She told him she did mass communication and even of not theoretically, she was good in the practical aspect.

“You think I would not be prepared. This is only a copy of the video. Just one of the many devices it is stored in. K, cut off ties and every lingering relationship you have with Lanre or your mother faces the humiliation of a lifetime. And trust me, I won’t end there”. Ify said to K who dropped down on the couch like someone who had lost consciousness.

He could not bear to see his mother get humiliated no matter what. He sighed. He wondered if there was no other way out of it.

“Ify why are you doing this? This whole engagement was staged so Lanre would regret and come back to me! I would compensate you for the time wasted”. K said. Ify slapped him.

“You think I’m a bag of flour you use to bake cake just to attract customers? Guy, you will eat me! Do you understand? You will marry me, and we will live happily ever after”. Ify said to K while pushing his head with the tip of her finger.

“F**k! What do I do with Lanre now?” K muttered. Ify heard it. She told him to forsake Lanre and stick to her.

“Fine! You won’t put up that video in the internet and I will stay away from Lanre”. K said to Ify. Ify smiled. K thought it was over but she threw a paper at him asking him to sign on it. He told her he does not have a pen. Ify gave him one. He signed and she did the same.

And so when Lanre called K the following day wanting to talk to him, he told asked her never to get in touch with him and that they had nothing in common. He was only trying to protect his mother’s reputation.
