Faking A Miscarriage Was Too Risky

Ify told her aunt that Christian was rather closer to Lanre than K. And that it would be difficult getting close to Christian. Her aunt asked her of her relationship has not ended with K. She wondered why her aunt asked such a question. She decided to answer anyway. She told her it has ended but she was going to work it out again. The aunt told her not to bother that Kehinde was a fool. She told her to get a way to know Christian’s father and try to seduce the man. That way, she will get both Christian and Lanre between her fingers.

“Aunty you want me to date a man old enough to be my father? No na! Many!” Ify said refusing to do what her aunt suggested.

“Taah mechionu! Nsigini no? What is no? Did I ask you to kiss a snake?” Mrs. Okafor went hysterical. Ify tried to pacify her aunt by calming her down.

“Since you want to find your own way, you are free. Just make sure you kill him before he kills you”. Mrs. Okafor said to her neice over the phone.

“Kill? How?” Ify asked. Mrs. Okafor asked her if she needed to clean her ear in order to hear her.

“Ify, the only way for you to make it alive seeing the trouble Lanre has cost you, you have to kill that young man. If you can’t do it, I will do it myself. And you will have to follow my every instruction”. Mrs. Okafor said. Ify agreed. She was fearful, but she felt she had no choice. She had no choice but to listen to her aunt. The aunt told her to keep her informed and that she would soon come to visit Olasile and speak to the woman regarding Lanre. Ify smiled at this point. Olasile should listen to her aunt since they were good friends.

But then, Ify was still fearful. Should she stain her hands with blood just to cover up her lies that will still go out in the open? Should she already fake a miscarriage? Or should she look for a way to get K to sleep with her so she can get pregnant? She was already close to her ovulation period. What if she sleeps with Odenigbo? He still loves her and she was with him the day she told them she was going to Dubai for shopping but didn’t go.

Ify decided if it doesn’t work with K, she will have to sleep with Odenigbo to get her pregnant. Faking a miscarriage was too risky. If she should do that, the Governor may change his mind and kill her seeing she has lost the baby. She could not take such risk.

Ify searched out K’s number and called him. She told him she just wanted to chat and that she was bored. She told him she would like to apologise to him and asked if they could be friends and forget about the past.
