Lanre and Ify are roommates and students of the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka, Enugu state. While Lanre is a beautiful light skin girl from the city of Ibadan, Ify whose full name is Ifeoma is dark skinned from the coal city, Enugu and both are undergraduates studying Mass communication and are in their final year. 
Unlike Ify, Lanre is the wild type who has her eyes for extremely flashy things, so when a guy approached her and asked her to marry her, she thought he wanted to hinder her from leaving life to the fullest until she realised he was the governor's son and wanted him for herself. But he was already engaged to Ify. What price is Lanre willing to pay to marry the "Governor's Son"?

The Governor's Son Is Mine

“Eno, there are so many people who died unjustly. But the world is yet to say anything. And even the ones they talk about, they do nothing. But what is the point watching a person die, only to say something afterwards when the death could be prevented? But so is life. Not all things will work for us. But we have to live. So forget about what the did and try to live. Even your mother was silent. She would be alive if she was not silent”. Lanre said to Eno.

“I hate her! I hate her for not doing anything. I hate it that she had to stay with him because of us. I just wish he will die as well. And I wish to see my sisters”. Eno said to Lanre with tears streaming down her cheeks. Lanre squeezed her palms. She told Eno that she does not have to see her sisters and that all she needs to do is to be strong for her sisters. While she muttered “god forbid” within her breath knowing that Eno’s sisters were dead together with her father. But she was too afraid of telling Eno. Thinking it was best Eno knows nothing about their death, Lanre has decided to just keep assuring Eno they will be fine even though they were just lies.

“I still do not feel like going there. But it is okay since I personally don’t know anyone in the family”. Eno said to Lanre. Lanre flashed her a smile. And they continued their journey in silence safe for the music until they got to a point where they had to seek for directions from people on the way.

“How did you know that my mom is from Esan?” Eno asked. Lanre told her she had to ask from people who knew. And she had managed to get her hand on her mother’s national ID card. A friend had help her check it out to know where the woman actually hailed from.

“So mom is from Ekpoma, Esan west?” Eno asked. Lanre smiled at her. That was a yes.

“There is this girl that lives in our compound. She’s a student of AAU. It is something Ambush Ali University. She told me Ekpoma is a boring place”. Eno said. Lanre asked Eno if the person actually told her the meaning of AAU meant Ambush Ali University. Eno looked at Lanre confusedly. She taps her finger on her chin. Then she nods her head.

“Then I guess the student must hate the school then. It is actually Ambrose Ali University, formally known as Bendel state university. A conglomeration of Delta state and Edo state before it was divided in 1991”. Lanre said to Eno.

“Oh! I did not know that. That means the university has been in existence for a long time. I do not think it is as popular as the one you went to?” Eno said to Lanre. Lanre smiled. She told Eno that there are still people who do not know about the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
