Mrs. Olayinka was not the only one mourning her daughter. LANs Beauty Parlour had to shut down for a while so the workers could mourn their boss. Eno who had been taken by a lady she does not even know was mourning Lanre as well. The only thing she knew was that it was Lanre who authorised the woman to come take her if anything should happen to her.
“Aunty Lanre, I hate you! You are wicked!” Eno would cry. To her, she had finally lost everyone. She no longer has anyone to call family. Even when the woman would try to come comfort Eno, Eno would pull up a scene.
“Leave me alone! Take me back to aunty Lanre’s place! I don’t know you! I don’t want any other person but my aunty Lanre!” Eno would cry and throw things on the floor.

“Kehinde, why won’t you go to her funeral? She is being buried today”. Christian said to K who just stood idly. His eyes seem to be looking far away, into the abyss.
“It is the last respect you can pay to the woman you love”. Christian said.
K smirked. He told Christian he does not want to pay such respect. He was adamant. He said he would not go there no matter what Christian said.
“Her soul will be weeping seeing you refuse to pay your respects to her. She fucking loved you”. Christian said.
“Chris! Go to the burial if you really want to go! Don’t drag me with you. I don’t want to go to any burial. To you she is dead, but to me she is not”. K said. Christian sighed. He finally understood what K was driving at. K was in denial of the truth that surrounds him. He has refused to believe Lanre is dead.
“Kehinde, Lanre is dead! You have to accept it. It was hard but I had to accept it as well. She is dead K! She was confirm dead two weeks ago the day she had that ghastly accident. She did not f**king make it out of the theatre alive”. Christian said trying to pull K into reality.
“Get out of my house! You are free to bury anybody and respect any dead person. But to me, she is not dead. People only see what to are allowed to see. I do not wish to see that”. K said and walked into his room. He told Christian to make sure he shuts the door when he leaves.
Christian sighed. He felt he could understand K and still make him attend Lanre’s burial, but the guy seem to be gone himself. Self denial is no different from death, death of one’s reality. What if K starts hallucinating? He won’t accept Lanre is dead.
“As far as I know, there is only one person who will die today. The one who planned that accident. Senator Ojo, you are sure going to meet your end today”. K said when he got into his room.
