MY HOUSE NOT YOURS 2

She heard the door bell ring again, before she could pull the jean pants up her hips, the two men had answered the door. She could see the entrance door from the slightly open door of the bedroom. She took a red t-shirt and started wearing. She saw Nora and Danny hurrying into the living room and she saw how Nora looked at the men in the living room and hurried towards the master bedroom.

"Oh, thank goodness you're here," Faith said with relief and hugged Nora once Nora entered the room.

"How are you?" Nora asked, pulling away.

"I don't understand the chunks that life is tossing me this period."

"Shhh." Nora placed a finger on her lips. "Let's go find out what they want."

Nora led her out to the living room, where the two men were already seated in a twin couch. Danny sat in a lone one, they all looked at the girls when they stepped out. Faith's eyes trailed to the man that said his name was Ethan. He was also looking at her and she felt that he reeked trouble, trouble for her, although she didn't know the kind of trouble. Nora sat down on the other twin couch in the room and Faith sat beside her.

"What really happened here?" Nora inquired.

"I'll go first," Axel said, raising his right hand up. "My name is Axel and this is my friend Ethan, who came from San Francisco and wanted to stay here for a while. He asked me to help him get a nice apartment and I got this apartment and paid for it some days ago, before my friend came here."

"Why was it empty? Why was it still in the market when I found it?" Nora demanded.

"I don't know. I guess we should find out from the landlord."

"I have been calling his line since Faith told me some intruder was in her apartment, but he is not answering my calls and it's on voice mail."

"Her name's Faith," Ethan said. "Well, I'm not an intruder."

"You just have to find another apartment then," Faith said.

"That's impossible, I spent my last money to get this apartment. You should find another apartment if you have the money while we resolve this," Ethan replied.

Axel looked at Ethan and started dialing the landlord's number again. It took him to voicemail severally and he looked at the people seated round, watching him. "I think, we have just been scammed."

"Scammed? What do you mean scammed?" Faith asked.

"It means that someone had defrauded us. As in, he took money from both us for one house," Ethan replied.

"I didn't ask for the meaning of scam, thank you," Faith snapped at him and faced Nora. "What are we going to do?"

"I'm so sorry, Faith. Maybe you should stay at ours until all of these is resolved."

Faith glanced at the guy who had a smirk on his face. He probably did hear what Nora had said to her. She wasn't going to be the one to leave a house she paid for. Why would she leave the house for this guy? Why would she let him win? He was the man and he should be the gentle man.

"I'm not going anywhere, if anyone should be leaving, he should be the one to leave," Faith said, her eyes never leaving the guy who still had a smirk on his face, staring at her too.
