GOOD MORNING

When he woke up the next morning, she was still sprawled in bed sleeping and snoring lightly. His whole body felt like they were hit with a sledge hammer. He winced in pain as he stretched his body. He wasn't used to this life of crumpling up on a sofa for the night. He looked at her on the bed and recalled last night and wondered when she had finally slept. He had stood by the door watching her as she cried and drank. She drag enough bottles of alcohol that he was scared for her.

He had stood there, helplessly watching her, as she cried, playing Ed Sheeran's 'Perfect' on repeat, he didn't know what to do, so he had just stood watching her. His head had hit the door frame and he found out that he had fallen asleep standing. He  had widened his eyes to make sure he was awake and he felt his legs wobble, so he had gone back to his couch, having it in mind to lay awake and wait until she was done weeping, but he had fallen asleep once his head had touched the couch, only to wake up this morning to find her in bed still sleeping.

She must have slept late. He thought of what to do and figured she must be hungover when she awakes. He stood up and his whole arm hurt, but he stretched and hit his arms gently. He was going to make her a oatmeal to help allievate the symptoms of the hangover. He started for the kitchen and looked into the living room, the whole table was cleared, looking like nothing had happened their last night.

He went to the kitchen, opened his fridge and found some bottles of drinks in there that he had not put, he smiled to himself.

"So much for not using each other's stuff." he muttered to himself, ignored the bottles, reached inside and took out the things that had brought him to the kitchen. His muscles still felt sore from the couch. He didn't want to sleep on that couch anymore, he took out his phone and dialed Axel while he made the oatmeal.

"Hello, buddy," Axel's voice sounded excited from the other end of the line.

       "Hey, how are you doing?"

"I'm good and I have great news for you."

Ethan didn't miss the tingle of excitement in his voice.  "I'm all ears," he said, wondering if Axel had finally been able to contact the landlord who had defrauded them.

"Your bed is arriving today. The company apologized for delaying."

"Of course, they always apologize. That was actually why I called, because I couldn't spend another night on this couch."

"They would be there shortly. You sleep on the couch now? I thought you said you would sleep on your roommate's bed?"

"Axel, she is a woman and I am a man, we can't sleep on the same bed when we are not even related nor together."

"Alright, I'll call you later, for now, I got to go." Axel hung up.

Ethan carried the bowl of oat meal towards the bedroom.
