"He moved into the other room," Faith said and sipped the smoothie. She was sitting on a table in Nora's kitchen, Nora was preparing dinner. She had been off duty for the night. She was making salad and had invited Faith to come over for dinner. Danny was still at work.
"Good riddance," Nora said and brought down the beef and broccoli she had stir fried.
Yes, good riddance, Faith thought, but why was she feeling empty? She was used to seeing him there. She remembered looking at the couch that he usually slept on and when she didn't see him there, she had felt her heart fall. She doesn't like that he was in a space that was supposed to be hers, but was he to blame? It was some con artist of a landlord that had brought them together. She was sure he loved his space too and non of them could do anything about it.
Like he had said, she just have to put up with him and let them co exist peacefully. But she didn't want another male in her life. The males in her life always bring nothing but sorrow, ranging from her father to Noah. Noah had not been the first man to dump her because she was too proper, but her dad had always taught her to be that way. He was always telling her that no man would get married to a clumsy woman like her.
Her dad had been religious and strict when they were growing and even when her brother Joshua had discovered his sexuality, he had refused to come out to them. Because they had grown up seeing homosexuality as a very big sin. She didn't like thinking about her family, it was all messed up.
"I guess," she sighed.
Nora came over and sat opposite the table looking at her. "Don't worry, everything would be alright. But for now let's eat food."
"So what kind of women are we looking for here?" Axel asked.
Ethan scrolled through the tablet, looking at the pictures of different girls in different striking poses.
"Where did you get these girls from?"
"They are my friends."
"You have this much female friends and Camelia is cool with it?"
"Camelia runs a modelling agency, she actually gave me these pictures. These are her best."
Ethan looked at the girls more intensely. "Err...these girls are beautiful...but, I'm looking for a girl I'll compact with."
"So, how would you know who you would compact with if you don't get to know them?"
Ethan scratched his head. "I know, but I'm...kind of not into models."
"Don't let Camelia hear that from you." They chuckled.
Ethan kept scrolling through the gallery. "I want a woman who is defiant and knows what she wants a sassy, meticulous and proper woman."
"A lot of girls are like that, you just have to choose your spec and check her out."
"My spec doesn't lie in physical beauty or sex appeal, it's in the personal. I want a woman that appeal to me."
"Then, I don't think you would find what you're looking for any time soon."
"I'll try."
