FOLLOW THE RULES

"What do you want?" she asked.

Charlotte's brows furrowed a bit, but the smile was still on her face. "You are all hungover and I thought I could make you an oatmeal."

What the hell is your mission here? Faith wanted to ask, but she looked at the bowl in her hands and looked at her face again. "I don't need it, thank you!" she snapped and shut her door on Charlotte's face.

Charlotte stood there for a while, not really sure of what had just happened. She looked into the bowl she had in her hand and asked herself what she had done wrong. She knocked again, but got no answer. She waited for a while and knocked again. Faith door flung opened and Faith came out looking furious and folded her arms across her chest.

"Can you stop being a nuisance and go home. You are disturbing me and it irritates me."

Charlotte brows creased this time and the smile disappeared. "Faith, what's wrong?"

"You are asking what's wrong? Do you want to force me to eat that?" Charlotte's shook her head slightly. "Is it a must to be friends with someone? I don't wanna be friends alright, stop forcing yourself on me. What's your motive? Huh? Why are you throwing yourself at everyone? Why are you throwing yourself at me? What do you wanna get?"

Tears had welled up in Charlotte's large blue eyes and she staring at Faith with utter disbelief. "I don't have any ulterior motive," she muttered and the tears fell from her eyes. "I was just trying to be friendly."

Faith huffed out a sardonic laughter. "You want to be friends? You said Mr Floyd read you the rules right? Did he tell you that we were supposed to stay out of each other's ways? If he did why didn't you get that into your skull? Could you, please, stay away from me?"

Charlotte nodded slightly and blinked. Ethan's door opened and he looked their way, his face creased in a frown and he started walking towards them. Charlotte took some steps and before she could turn, Ethan was behind her she turned and hit her forehead on his chest.

"What's wrong?" Ethan asked, trying to raise Charlotte's head. But Charlotte kept her head down. Ethan looked at Faith who stared away. "What is going on here?" Ethan inquired.

"Nothing, nothing. The door hit my hand, it hurts," she said amidst tears.

Faith went in and banged her door, she rolled her eyes and went and lay on her bed.

Ethan hugged Charlotte, took the bowl of oatmeal from her and kept on the floor. He stood up and held Charlotte. "I know you are lying. What did she say to you."

"I'm not lying, she just said I should stick to the rules and that she doesn't want to be friends, but I'm crying because that door hit my fingers."

"Cry baby," Ethan said and hugged her, consoling her. After a while, he led her to the room and lay her down on the bed. In a few minutes she was asleep. Ethan stood up to go confront Faith.
