Nora and Charlotte were very serious about their fight to prove who the craziest was. Faith had gotten a handful already and she had laughed until her ribs hurt. She had not laughed that hard for long. She wondered if she has ever laughed like that since he came into existence. She had been born into a sad family, without laughter, so laughter had not been common to her.
The other times she remembered that she had laughed hard was those days with Noah. Noah was a funny character and always cracked her up. Nora and Charlotte had decided to race with cars. They had kept Faith at the finishing point to know who arrived first. Faith had waited and waited that day, but they had not shown up and it had gotten her worried. She hadn't called any of them so that she won't distract any of them.
Then Charlotte had come riding a motorcycle instead and had almost hit her car.
"The cops! The cops!" she had yelled.
Faith had started the car out of impulse. Charlotte had killed the engine of the motorcycle, had hopped down and moved to the car. Their finishing point had been at the old train station.
"What of Nora?" Faith had asked.
"The police is still on her heels."
"What are we going to do right now?"
Charlotte was dialling the cops already. Faith had looked at what she was doing.
"What are you doing?"
"Calling the police."
"Why?"
"Because I want to call them."
"Wouldn't you get us into more trouble?"
"Watch me do my thing," Charlotte had said.
"Hello, 911, how may I help you?"
Charlotte had screamed that Faith had almost jumped out of the car. When she had recovered herself, she had glared at Charlotte, mouth agape.
"There is a crazy man here! He wants to kill me!"
"Ma'am, may I know where you are calling from?"
"I'm calling from Sixth street, please come quickly, he had already stabbed me twice, I'm bleeding."
"Alright, what is the description of the house."
Faith had watched in awe as Charlotte had described a house in Sixth Street that only God knows if it existed. When she was done doing that, she had tapped her hand on the car window and turned to Faith.
"Do you think this would distract the police?"
Faith had still stared at her with incredible awe. She had pushed Faith.
"Why are you like that? People lie to the police every day. What do you think? Wait!" She held out her hand in front of Faith. "I just got an idea. I have a friend that drives a truck. That would be better."
She had dialled whoever she talked about and had told them the route the police are taking.
"Look out for a blue convertible, when it crosses, the cops would follow, but before then, I want you to block the road so that the cops won't be able to cross."
They had called Nora and had filled her in on the plans. Nora who sounded like she was tired of driving had agreed. That was how they had played the game until Nora lost the police.
