Chapter Thirty Five: A man down

But the concerning matter was why was Dennis Wayne in her dreams?

The devil hunted dreams and so does Dennis Wayne!

Why did she dream of someone she despised in this manner?

Was this voodoo or black magic? How she likes and hates the same person at the same time.

Joleen rubbed her eyes before stretching and then yawning.

She got out of the bed, but still sitting on it with her feet on the floor.

She rubbed her eyes once more as her mind still wondered about her dream. It was worrisome, but what was more worrisome was that she still felt the same way she was feeling in the dream even after waking up.

What was this? She used to read about girls who somehow found them self attached to a “bad guy” but she never understood them, and even now that she feared what she used to think only fictional was closer to reality than she ever imagined, yet, it was still beyond her understanding.

She went to the kitchen, arranged herself some lunch and had it at the general staff diner which was in the staff main building.

The Dennis Wayne mansion was a large one, with one major large building and two other buildings which housed his domestic staff.

The main building which had fourteen different rooms, two sitting rooms and other units housed only Dennis Wayne and his special visitors when he had any. The other two quarters combined had about Eighteen rooms all together which sheltered about seven of his live in staff and eight of his occasionally staff. Occasionally only because they only used their assigned rooms whenever it was their shift or day of work.

Also, all domestic staff catered for their daily meal, but they could always get groceries from the store keeper, but putting a dish together was sorely each persons personal duty.

Well, except for her. When she joined the Dennis Wayne domestic workers, she was young and without any close relation apart from her grandma. The manager at the time was considerate enough to let her have her day to day meal from the one prepared in the main building kitchen.

She ate while her mind hovered around so many things, she was later joined by some other staff, but she left them to her room as soon as she was done.

Now in her room, she decided to try practicing her designs but she just couldn't get herself to concentrate. She slammed her laptop with frustration.

"Arggghhhhhh" she let out. Why couldn't she stop thinking about him?

What was this infatuation with him?

Everything about this was different, she had crushed on boys before but none felt like this, this was different, this had a mix of desperation and she would never give in. She would never again sell herself out to him.

She didn't understand how she thought about him way more than her grandma who needed all the thoughtfulness in the world. Hnn hjn
