Chapter Sixty: THE Mall

She walked out and found Sara on a mini couch by the corner, she was laid back on the couch chewing gum in an irksome manner, but she knew she had taken note of her.

Joleen went before the wide mirror to see herself in full. A little smile enveloped her lips, she loved the dress, it was almost too much for her, almost too much for her simple nature, but she loved it.

"Uhh, not this one," she heard Sara say from behind her.

what does she mean by 'not this one?' she wondered before turning to face Sara as her expression gave out her query.

"Too princessy, this is not prom," Sara said, before standing from the couch and reaching for a red shiny dress.

"But I like this one," Joleen insisted.

Sara walked towards her with the red dress, holding out the dress, handing it to her but not putting enough effort to see that she took the dress.

"It's not about what you like," she said as she continued with her self assigned job of excising her jaw by chewing that gum audibly.

Joleen aggressively took the red dress from her, stomping back into the changing area.

She wore the red shiny dress, this particular dress gave off a very different vibe from the purple dress. She looked different. Almost like she was a different person in the purple dress and also a different person in the red dress.

She looked beautiful, but at the same time alluring. She loved this too, and at this point, she didn't know if she liked this one better or the other one.

She walked out again to see the full dress before she found her nightmare standing on two feet by another section of the mall.

He even appeared taller that very afternoon and charming per usual.

'What was he in here for!' she wondered.

Their gaze locked and they just stared into each other's souls. A weird urge began to grow within her. Why did her legs irk to race towards his tall plush figure? He seemed entrapped towards her as much as she was towards him. Maybe it was really hot that afternoon because her inside had suddenly almost begun to boil.

"Cute, but umm, too bougie for a car designer party," She heard Sara say from the background even though her voice seemed a little blurry. She only made sense of her words a few seconds after she had spoken. She was too entrapped to clearly hear what she was saying. Entrapped by a man she had no business feeling this way for.

She had snapped out of his gaze, she blinked twice, moving her gaze away from him to the ground before finally moving it to Sara.

She didn't know what to say or how to react to Sara rejecting two dresses she happened to pick by herself for her.

She stared at Sara not knowing exactly what word to utter, and maybe her recent speechlessness had something to do with Mr. Devil and his entrapping presence.

"Change it," Sara added swiftly.
