Chapter 62

Olivia and Bruno took Abigail and Bill along while heading back to the hotel, Olivia had made a reservation for them in the same hotel, to enable them wait for the changes she had asked Bill to effect in the company's profile. Bruno took routes that made the trip a short one, making it easier to arrive the hotel in lesser time. He spotted a space where he parked easily allowing them enough room to alight. They then moved to the lobby, the receptionist didn't waste time to call on a waiter who guided them through the lift up to their floor and finally proceeded to their room. Immediately they got to their floor, Olivia and Bruno left the couple with the waiter and entered their respective rooms.

Although Olivia was born and brought up in a rich family, where she lacked nothing, she also went to a school that had majority of her class and at the least strata average. Infact it could be said that she had grown up among her kind, as there was no interaction nor exposure of any kind with the low class or what can be referred to as the poor. She would leave house in a private car to school while in the elementary school and return same way. Their house was in a government residential area for the top officials in government. It was most likely possible to live in such a place for years without meeting a neighbour or meeting him or her once. Her secondary education was in a boarding school, where she met her kind too. She would spend months there, then return to the house on holiday periods. It was in her University days and years that she had a little more of exposure to the people of a lesser class, although it was not a one on one experience, rather it was based on some courses that she took that had some topics related to such people and their livelihood. This was so because the University was a private one and people of such low level of income status, could not afford it. So she had same high class status students as friends to mingle with. In addition to the course that gave her insight and exposure to the other levels in the stratified classes of the society, was the environment where the school was built. There were times when, they would need to go outside the gate for either practicals or projects which may require investigation or sampling method, and the designated area that would serve as a case to study might be the locals in that communities sorrounding the school. This and some more, where factors that had affected her way of life, as it shifted her character from the known norm of the rich who mostly saw and treated the lower class like trash. Most of her friends and close aquaintances also commend her kindheartedness. In her constituency, she was the most loved and everyone looked forward to having a child like her. This contributed to the reason why her desire to represent the at the upper Chambers of the legislative arm of government was welcomed without opposition by many. The first time her consultants went on opinion survey, almost everyone they met had one good thing to say about her. She registered a foundation that took care of the widows and their children, the vunerable in the society and the deprived especially the children. Her love for humanity was second to non.

 Abigail and Bill could not believe it that not only did she pay for their accomodations for the number of days, the food and drinks they would take were also settled. The one that surprised them most was when they wanted to buy some few clothings they saw in the boutique on the ground floor, the attendant told them that they were instructed that whatever they take, or buy inside the hotel should have the bill sent to the accountants office, hence the refusal to collect money from them. Bill wondered the kind of person she was. He asked the wife why she hadn't been close to such a wonderful friend. He imagined the cost of all expense in the hotel added to the contract that was in millions of dollars she would hand over to him. They were in room 105, not too far from hers, and she had also I'm her usual way, made a reservation for a dinner as a welcome package.

When Olivia got to her door, she knocked lightly, and waited a little then the door opened. She walked in and shut the door. Mike Hugged her and gave her a peck on the cheek. He enquired how they meeting was handled. Olivia took time to tell him alm that happened, she was narrating it while pulling off her clothes and changing into something lighter. When she mentioned that she was mad at Bill for not including the wife as a director in his company, Mike wondered what kind of a woman Olivia was. He could only imagine how many people both men and women with such golden heart. 

You mean you paused everything Justin make sure your friends name appeared in that profile? He asked to confirm her reason.

Yes, not for my friends sake only, every woman must be part of her husband's assets, and liabilities. She responded.amd it's vice versa, she added.

Mike smiled, he was so happy to have identified himself with such a human being, but he couldn't understand why Pat was not able to emulate Olivias lifestyle, since they were best of friends. She was exactly opposite of her friend in so many ways. Even before the arrival of Olivia, he was always talking to her about her approach to life and attitude towards him and other people. When Olivia arrived, even though he was actually carried away by her physical beauty, he was also skeptical at the initial stage, thinking she was like her friend, Pat. After all it was said that birds of same feather, flock together.As the days went by and culminated into weeks he began to see some huge disparity between her and his wife. This made him curious an added to his lust for her in a positive way. Positive way in the sense that what was previously lust of the flesh, turned to love. What marvelled him most was the fact that her superficially rich status hadn't in anyway made her proud, she carried herself in such level of humility that you will never know her class. He had seen her help an elderly woman carry her luggage into the trunk of a car, and when he enquired, she said the woman was too old to carry such. He had also seen her give to the poor on the street, and she does these things excited. He recalled how he was making moves towards her, he was actually doing it as a Manager whose position and financial power was okay enough to take care of her. She never insulted him all those while, rather she was polite even when she refuse an offer. All these he experienced when he wasn't aware of her status. Now that he knew her better, he felt ashamed of himself. 

We have dinner with the Bills this night, the usual venue. she said.

That interrupted Mikes thoughts. She was through with her change of clothing, and was sitting down on the bed close to Mike when she said that. She asked Mike what he thought of such men like Bill for not including his wife's name. Mike shared the same line of thought with her and commended her for her kindness. They chatted a bit, then decided to take a nap before the night out. 

They were awakened by the alarm clock on the table, it was the time for dinner, Olivia stood up first and went into the bathroom where she had a quick shower, she came out getting herself prepared while Mike went in for his own shower. She thought of what to put on and finally decided to dress on a jean trouser and t-shirt, which made her look sporty. She looked herself in the mirror and loved what she saw, she could see she was adding a little weight, and it was beautiful on her. Her phone rang suddenly, when she picked, it was Bruno, he asked if she was ready for the dinner, as Bill and the wife were with him and wanted to know the venue. She apologized for not keeping to time and asked Bruno to take them along to same venue, as she was almost ready to cone down. Immediately she dropped the call, another call came, this time am international call, when she picked, it was from the military hardware manufacturing company in the US, they were ready for her. The order list was complete awaiting there arrival. She appreciated the caller, and promised they would soon be there. By the time she dropped the call, Mike had come out and dressed up. She asked him how she looked, although that was the first time Mike heard her ask such, he responded that she looked beautiful. They got ready and left the room. Lucy who was on phone with Sam, had dressed up before the call me in, he called her to now how she was doing, then he informed her that he had just received a mail from the company in the US, that the consignment was ready for pick up. He advices her to be patient as they would soon be off to the US. He ended the conversation by reminding her he was really missing her. Lucy smiled and told him not to worry as she would make it up to him when she returned. Then they ended the call, and Lucy jumped from her seat, ran out of the room as she jammed the door and ran into the lift. She didn't want to get to the garden late as she did the last time. When she arrived, Olivia was on call so she exchanged pleasantries with the couple and Bruno. She sat down, this time she was actually looking formal in her dressing. When Olivia got off the phone, Lucy had wanted to apologize for get there late, but she told her no to work as she just heard from Sam that she was on phone with him few minutes ago. They were served with fruit juice while they waited, it was also fortunate enough that all of them smokes, Lucy was still contemplating on taking excuse to smoke, when Abigail brought out hers, lit it and dropped the pack on the table asking that they share with her. Bill was the next to pick his, while others joined. The whether was actually cold and the cigarette really helped. In a little while, the food was served and to the Bill suprise, it was his best. He loved eating jollof rice with fried plantain, there was avacado pear too, the fried chicken was on one side and drinks too. It was a full table of assorted food and drinks. They made their choices from the different cusines. Abigail ate couscous with chicken soup, Bill ate jollof rice with fried plantain and chicken, Olivia ate vegitable salad and Chicken, Bruno ate fried rice wirh chicken while Lucy ate chicken ans chips. They ate in silence for the first few minutes before Olivia broke the silence. She formally introduced Mike first as her husband, then she introduced Lucy as her business partner, Lucy was surprised but super happy at the same time, her status had been raised she thought, she was now a business partner to the almighty Olivia Hart. Olivia then introduced Bruno, as a brother and family. Bruno was touched, he never expected such, ordinarily, she was supposed to introduce him as his security, he saw humility and sense of respect in her and it increased his respect for her too. She went further to introduce Abigail as her wonderful sister and a friend way back in school days, the she reminded her of how she saved her life once she was almost hit by an oncoming vehicle, which caused her (Abigail) the injury she was carrying, she proceeded to ask that she show it to her husband. It was actually a fracture and deep wound that happened when she dived and pushed Olivia out from the vehicle, thereby saving her life, but she hit her body hard on the side walk that her left arm fractured and her flesh opened deep from the sharp pavement. Abigail had forgotten that and while Olivia told the story, tears rolled her eyes, everyone on the table became cold, as the story brought chills all over their bodies.

Alicia, Brenda and Chase got in the car and drive off, while they were going, Chase who was still admiring Brenda returned back to his thoughts. He remembered everything that happened, and the sequence that it followed. Brenda had rubbed her hand on her groin and his body reacted swiftly, making his dick bulge conspicuously. Alicia and Chase walked into the office and salutes him, he responded without looking up, and directed them to sit down. He stood up from his position, and walked out to where they were sitted, he was having a few papers on his hands, once he got close, he drew one of the seats close to them and sat directly opposite them. He shared the papers he has into two and handed one group to Chase and the other to Alicia. He asked them to peruse while he spoke.
