Chapter 94

When two people fall in love, they adopt different approach showing their partner they love them, some times, the approach would come in a way that of care wasn't taken, the other partner might misunderstanding it, thereby causing more harm than good. This was exactly what went on with Mike and Olivia. While Mike was having a lot of concerns on the negative developments that sorround their relationship, Olivia was playing the hen waiting for him to do the chasing. She believed so much in the saying that goes, ' if you love a bird allow it to fly, if it finds it way back, good, if it doesn't, you know it was never meant for you.' Even in the midst of her confusion on how to handle the pregnancy news, she was still showing signs of strength. She was a firm believer in possibilities, she knew how to sort herself out in any challenge confronting her.

Mike had a very long and sound rest in the room, this was without interruption. He finally woke up, looked at his time, it was almost half past seven. He thought of avoiding Cindy so he wouldn't be getting himself entangled in another relationship troubles. He couldn't understand what and why of what he termed in his heart as temptations coming his way. In a day, he was approached by two ladies, not just anyhow ladies, they were ladies of class. These were ladies that he wouldn't think of going for on a very good day, but here he was almost having them on a platter of gold. He knew he was quite a handsome man, he remembered some of the incidents that happened while he was  student and his early years before marriage. Ladies would always have confrontations over him, which sometimes would get into physical fight. Those moments and memories made him laugh as he recalled how he would disappear from their midst, only to hear from his friends or neighbors how the fight ended. He was mostly the talk of the environment where he lived. He brought out the compliment card, wanted to tear it, but something told him not to, rather he should go ahead and invite her for dinner, who knows, she could come handy when it has to do with business. Mike knew that the thought was more of a hypocritical one, right inside him was the hunger to devour Cindy's erotic body. The rolling buttocks was still visible in his head, he believed that the only way to get it off his head was by tasting it. He took his phone, called the line and waited while it rang. The two times he tried the number, it rang all through but she didn't pick her call, so he dropped the phone, got up from the bed and changed into something between formal and informal. He was going to have his dinner with or without her he decided. He was just leaving the lift down the hound floor, when he noticed his phone was ringing, he looked at the number on the screen, it was Cindy's, he could tell because he just called the number. Mike picked the call, and her voice came through at the other end sweet as it sounded when they met in the morning. She first apologized for not picking his call, her read was worth it and Mike accepted it without hesitation. She was in the bathroom when the phone rang, being that she had put it  on silent when she was taking her siesta, there was no way she would have heard or known it was ringing. Mike who was now sitting at the lobby, told her he was down there, he asked her to join him for dinner. Cindy accepted asking that he gave her ten minutes to meet up with him.

My daughter, what is it that trouble you. Olivia's mom asked.

Her mind had not been at rest since she saw the tears in her daughters eyes. Although she and her husband loved the twin bey much, there was that little preference on the side of Olivia though it was not easily noticed. She looked at Olivia laying down on the three seater leather upholstery in the siting room, she doesn't appear to be sick, she had tried feeling her temperature, everything seemed normal. She wouldn't know what the problem was, all she could do was guess it must be emotional. Perhaps someone had broken her heart. She decided to help her ease off whatever load he might be carrying in her heart. She began by telling her how she met her Dad. Initially when she started the story, it was as if, she was talking to herself. Down the line in the story, she realized that Olivia was paying much attention and that her position had changed.

Are you serious Mom? Olivia asked.

Yes my daughter that was what exactly happened. You see, whenever life gives you lemons, don't get worked up or go complaining, all you need do is use it to prepare lemonade.

That line of thought sank into Olivia, she got up, hugged her Mom and thanked her for the words of encouragement. She left her mom's apartment back to hers. On her way, she kept thinking whether it was a coincidence or not. How would such a thing repeat itself just like that. Many questions began to flood her mind, she made up her mind that she wouldn't be telling her Mom yet. When she got to her apartment, Pat was laying down resting. Lucy's eyes were probing hers probably expecting her to let out what transpired between Mother and daughter.

I didn't tell her, Olivia said. She was referring to Lucy.

Why? Lucy asked. I thought we agreed you were going to tell her? she added.

Olivia was about to tell her what happened when Pat turned and got up from her position. She welcomed Olivia with a hug. Olivia was happy to see her, so she turned her attention towards her. The first things he did was to say sorry for her attitude back there in the US.

I really understood, your actions though it seemed Unecessary. I believe you had an advantage. Pat replied.

Olivia couldn't understand why she would say so, she never expected such a response.

Did anything happen after that, why do you say so? Olivia asked.

Pat didn't want to continue the discussion there, she wasn't comfortable with Lucy's presence. It was a secret between she and her friend, so she felt it wasn't proper for a third ear to hear. In fact to her best of understanding if the news gets to the public, her friends career would be affected. So she changed the topic immediately, asking Olivia about Mom and Mira.

Mike checked his time at intervals, while he waited for Cindy. At the seventh minute, the door of the lift got open, he turned and looked, behold, she was stepping out from the lift, looking like a mermaid. What she wore, was snowing her curves. She was putting on a tightly fitted leggings with a top that barely covered her stomach, displaying her navel conspicuously. From where he was standing, he could see very clearly the camel toe between her thighs. She was already attracting a lot of attention. Most of the men that passed turned to take a second look at her. She walked majestically to one side of the lobby, with her phone in her hands, Mike noticed she was trying to make a phone call and suspected he was the one she would call, s he stood up and walked up to her. The moment she saw him, she threw her body at him, giving him a full hug and a kiss on the cheek. This stunned Mike, he felt she was moving rather too fast to his liking. He was working out modalities for the step by step approach, having the gentleman date, then wait for the next meeting before going close or intimate. It seemed his hunger would be satisfied earlier than he thought, so he held his hand round her hips while they walked to the parking lot for a cab.

Mike thought it wise to change his earlier plans of having his dinner in the hotel, Cindy's look was so charming that he felt it would be nice to flaunt her out side. He asked the cab man where they could go and have a good treat that evening. The man suggested to him that there was a Caribbean open ground restaurant at the beach where out door parties were held in the evenings. Before Mike could say jack, Cindy told the can to take them there. Mike and Cindy got into the rear seat, and the driver took off. Mike flashback to the accident, which made him tell the driver to drive slow and safe. His phone rang while they were on the way, he looked at it, it was a call from Margaret. He didn't know whether to pick the call or not, Cindy was sitting so close to him, in fact she was leaning on him, with her head in his shoulder and her right hand on his lap. If he picked the call, she would clearly hear what Margaret would say. He was more careful because he knew Margaret wanted the same thing Lucy was already gunning for. His maturity level right now shouldn't allow for embarrassing news he thought. He refused to pick the call, when Cindy asked him why he didn't want to pick his call, he told her it was a distraction, he was out for fun, the call was work. On hearing that, Cindy did not probe further, rather she got closer to him as if she would enter inside of him.
