Chapter 78

Olivia and Lucy's return to LOGISTICS, saw a little bit of progress in the inspection of the proposed goods. They had thought it would take up to a week before the procurement director would call them back, but the call came earlier than expected. Olivia was on the bed resting when her phone rang, she picked the call and the directors voice came through. He asked her if she was free to come over that morning for the inspection as there was no activities regarding the Federal government on there own weapons. Olivia new that it was a chance that shouldn't be missed, so she called on Lucy to get ready as they were rushing to the company. Fortunately, Lucy was able to respond quickly by being ready before Olivia and waited down the ground floor lobby. When they got to the gate, there wasn't much protocols as he first day, the only delay they faced was the signing in and the visitors identity card issuance. They were just waved at when they got to the second gate. Finally they got to the directors office and h welcomed them. But he didn't waste anytime taking them immediately to the warehouse. There they met the man in charge of the goods. With the list handy, they all went through the goods one after the other. Olivia who had an experience, tried her best to lecture Lucy while they checked. It was an interesting experience for Lucy who was seeing some of these weapons live for the first time. They went one after the other, thinking as they viewed. Ordinarily, it was supposed to be a week inspection because there were many things in the list, and there was no way they would finish the inspection in a day or two, but for the activities of the government, the director insisted that they do much that day to be able to cover alot in case of unforeseen circumstances.

This was what led to Olivia and Lucy's late return from the company, hence Pat had to take a taxi from the airport to the hospital. Pat's trip was an interesting one from the onset, she was given a band new Toyota Tacoma with escorts to get her to the airport, this made the movement smooth. Then on arrival at the airport, she was taken to the VIP lounge where she was to wait for the loading time. It was while they entered the VIP that she checked her ticket, and saw she was with a first class ticket. Being in first class comes with a lot of privileges, for instancé the lounge she was staying and waiting, the kind of food and other services she would get while on board. The moment she got relaxed in the lounge, the security details left her for return back to the base. She spent almost an hour before the announcement for boarding came on the speaker. The flight was also a smooth and safe one, the weather was friendly and good for flights, this made it easy for them to land on time. She had thought Olivia would be at the airport waiting, but to her disappointment,she waited and waited buy there was no sight Olivia. She then called her line. She picked the call and apologized to her, she also explained the reason for her not being at the airport. Pat's anger went down when she heard her excuse, she knew how busy Olivia her friend could be when it has to do with business. So she decided that it would be better for her to head straight to the hospital where her husband or better still her ex husband was taking treatment. The airport taxi guy she met, was a nice white guy, he helped her put her luggage in the trunk of the car, then Pat got into the front seat, she wanted to have a good view of the road, the driver started the engine and they began the journey to the hospital. They finally arrived the hospital after so long a journey, Pat asked the driver to wait for her, she wanted to see Mike, then get back to the car and the driver would take her to the hotel where she would meet Oliva.

It was when Mike handed the two pieces of papers to him and Pat, that they realized he was having speech issues. Brains the turned to the nurse who did a detailed explanation on that. This made tears run down Pat's check. Pat and Brains had to immediately switch to writing mode of discussion. 

When Olivia and Lucy got tired for the day, they told the director, who understood them as ladies and asked them to take their leave, and resume the next day. Olivia appreciated him, and immediately they left the office to the car. The driver was already in the car waiting when they got there, so it was easy for them to get in, and the driver moved. As they approached the hospital gate, Olivia told the driver to head to the hospital. She had planned to see Mike and discuss with him before Brains met with him, and for the reason she had in mind, she wasn't taking chances regarding that. The driver drive down to the central area of the city and negotiated right to another road before hitting the main road that led to the hospital. As usual, they had a brief stop over at the mall, where Olivia bought some fruits and juices. They continued and arrived the hospital on time. They alighted form the car and walked to the ward. When they got to the door, Olivia saw Pat sitting, she had wanted to rich and hug her, but her face wasn't welcoming at all. She greeted her and went to the bedside where Mike lay down, and sat comfortably by his side. Lucy who was with what they bought, drew near and placed what  bought on the side table of the hospital bed. Olivia looked at Brains with what seemed like suspicion, she could see he was with a paper and a pen, but she wasn't sure if he had written anything about her to Mike. She would have loved to, with hand written note, told Mike about Brains, but she felt it wasn't necessary as things hadn't gone bad to that extent. Pat and Olivia finally excused themselves from the others and went to a secluded corner, where They had a lot of things to discuss, so they wouldn't waste any time to start the discussion there and then. 

When Alicia and Chase got home from the office, they did the unusual thing this time, instead of each of them heading to their favourite respective rooms, they stayed back at the sitting room to discuss their strategies. The first thing they were to do was to gather information they have already as a tool.
