Chapter 123

The election day came finally, Olivia Hart and Mira her sister drove to the Campaign office were numerous members were gathered. They were accompanied by Chase, Alicia, Pat, Kelly and Lucy. The crowed of supporters were also gathered outside the office were they monitored the collection of results via the big plasma screen that was fixed for the purpose. As soon as Olivia and her team got into the office complex, the executive members of the party welcomed her officially and pleasantries were exchanged. Everyone felt very excited that the day they had been waiting for was finally here. Olivia could feel the positive vibe in the air, the huge crowd seemed highly optimistic, they held the flag of the party high, waving it and singing songs of victory. Some were holding Olivia's pictures and were waving them also. 

The support was much that Olivia felt emotionally touched. She could only imagine how disappointed they must have felt under Crusoe that made them yearn for change of representative. She turned and looked at her sister, Mira was almost shedding tears, she was overwhelmed by what she saw. They never expected to see such a crowed, they had in mind that they would see the campaign officials, the executive members of the party and other few committees that had done one job or the other. 

Olivia was asked to address the crowd, she was meant to understand that they were longing to hear from her. She and Mira had to go into the inner office where they drafted a speech. When they came out to face the crowed, there was so much cheers and shouts that it took up to 30 to 35 minutes before they became silent once more. It was then the Campaign manager spoke to them and told them to give a listening ear to Olivia. 

It was a short speech that captured appreciation of all who had put in effort one way or the other throughout the campaign periods, she also encouraged them to keep hope alive as they were coming out victorious, having done all that were supposed to be done. She added that she could see their high spirit and feel their optimism. When she ended the speech, she was greeted by another round of shouts, this time they accompanied it with whistles, trumpets, some cymbals and drums. 

While they were waiting for the result to start coming in, this was always the method, the agents at the booths would send in results from their different locations, while those in the office would verify them with the ones being announced by the media, which comes from the collation center. Kelly and Mira was surprised that at that critical and very sensitive moment, Olivia was asking for answer to her previous evening question when Kelly was telling the story. Kelly and Mira looked at each other, they never knew that was the reason for calling both of them out from the rest to the inner office which was kept private for her. Kelly felt it might be a measure for her to calm her nerves and remove her mind from the anxiety that comes with waiting for results. So he continued the story, first with the answer to Olivia's question.

I didn't, not that day. Kelly answered.

Indeed he and Pauline slept together in the hotel room that night, although they held each other so close while they slept, sex didn't cross their mind. Pauline felt like she was in heaven, she had her back on Kelly who held her from behind while they lay in a ninety nine position. She could feel the softness of his hands on her body, his breathing was very calm as that of a new born baby. He wasn't snoring and his heartbeat was regular. She at a point had wanted more than just holding her, but she told herself not to be too fast. If she could get to this point after so long a time of trying and waiting patiently, why not wait a little more. She was moreover very grateful to her Dad for the approach he adopted, although she was not in support of initially.

The next morning, they had to go for a meeting with the Dad, the meeting was scheduled to present his case for possible reinstatement, Kelly when informed, was more curious to know what they would say his sins were, even though he had taken Chamberlain's advice, that he shouldn't ask questions. Pauline had ordered a new piece of suit and pant, a pair of shoes and other things he would need to appear neat and good. The meeting was to hold at the company's headquarters complex. When they had dressed, Pauline couldn't hold back her admiration for Kelly's handsomeness, she was lost staring at him. Kelly saw her and smiled, if there was one things he was sure of about himself, it was that he knew how to carry himself, being that he was blessed with such a body that makes people want to buy whatever they saw him wear. Within a few minutes, they were on their way to the office, Kelly was not completely himself, he wasn't sure of what would happen there, the way Pauline presented it to him, she sounded as if they were going to present the case and possibly argue it out. Meanwhile Pauline felt happy that Kelly was back to work, for her it felt so good having him around once again though this time it would be a better working condition. She already knew what was going to play out in the meeting, all she expected to see was Kelly's reaction.

Olivia's attention was needed at the conference hall, their Dad had just arrived the complex. Kelly had to excuse both ladies to go and see their Dad. When they got there, as usual, there were many security agents everywhere. Chase and Alicia were with their Dad in one of the offices they were told as they got to the conference hall. They left and searched for the office which was two doors away from the hall. They got in and hugged their Dad. 

Congratulations! Ben said to Olivia.

Olivia and Mira didn't understand why he said so, they felt loss. Chase had to step in, he told Olivia that six (6) results had been released and that she had won five (5) while the opponent had one (1). Olivia smiled, while Mira whispered to her ear;

Senator Olivia Hart!

Olivia turned and gave her a soft play like slap on her back. They had a little chat with the Dad, before he left the complex while the two ladies went back to Kelly. Mira was filled with joy, she was it good at managing news like Olivia her sister Olivia. Once they got into the office where Kelly was waiting, it was obvious that something good had happened, this Kelly observed from Mira's body language. When he asked what the joy and excitement was all about, Olivia had to tell him. Kelly was exceptionally happy and it was noticeable to the two ladies. The rest of the time including the story telling was fun.

So what happened when you met the Dad? Olivia asked. 

Yes what happened? Mira repeated the question.

Kelly couldn't help but laugh, he understood how curious they had become. Who wouldn't want to know how the meeting ended, h thought to himself. He could recall his curiosity while on the way to the office, which doubled when he arrived. Most of the staff who were on duty, were so excited to see him, their greetings delayed them a little from getting into the lift. Pauline could not help it this time, she had no option than to enjoy the sight of love shown to Kelly. It was obvious that they had missed him so much. Some where even asking him if he had returned to work. While some told him it had been their prayers that he returned. After much of the chat, Pauline had to use the security on duty to disperse them, while they got in the lift and headed to the last floor of the building which housed Pauline's Dad office. While they lift was headed up, Pauline took another look at Kelly, she wasn't able to hold it this time, so she stepped forward a bit closer to him and planted a kiss on his lips. When she was done, her lipstick changed Kelly's lips to red, that she had to take out a wipe from her purse and clean it. The lift stopped at the 30 floor of the building which is the last of the floors, housing the Managing Director, chief executive officer of the company. The secretary didn't have the need to ask if they had an appointment, seeing the daughter. All she asked was for a little Patience for the guest inside with the Dad to come out. Pailne and Kelly had to seat down and wait.

Olivia, Kelly and Mira heard a loud shout from outside, so they paused the story and ran out to know what was happening.
