Are you nervous?

Chapter fifty-five

Did this man have some sort of psychic abilities or something? How could he read her mind? Her heart pulsated, it was so obvious that she was nervous.

"Why would you think of wearing Kathryn's clothes? What happened to mine?" Anna felt a wave of embarrassment rush through her immediately after he asked that. Her cheeks instantly went red and hot. There was something about the way Mr Williams said it. He said it so casually as though it was something normal.

He seemed to enjoy her reactions which he found really cute. He liked how she looked flustered now and then.

"C- Can I have them now?" She whispered.

"Just how eager are you to wear my clothes?" He asked and Anna found herself scowling at his question. The man really thought so highly of himself. She wondered if he let his sexual partners wear his clothes also. Anna constantly found herself subconsciously comparing herself to his sexual partners.

"Come with me."

She followed him obediently like a child. They didn't take the stairs. There was an elevator in the living room which Anna just noticed. She couldn't believe that he had an elevator in his house. When he pressed the button, she entered and felt like she was claustrophobic. There was something about his presence that sent shivers down her spine. This was different from the elevator experiences she'd had with him previously. While those had been in the office, a professional place, this was his house.

Anna folded her lips and created a little distance between them. Interestingly, he did not try to close the distance. He simply glanced at her with those captivating eyes of his and questioned, "Why are you so nervous?"

"Nervous? Me? Never." She said, getting defensive immediately and laughing nervously.

This time, he closed the distance between them and Anna stopped breathing immediately. God! This man's presence was killing her. The night hadn't even begun yet and she was already being tortured by him. As he leaned further, she could smell his cologne. He trapped her with his gaze and his hands, which were on either side of her body. Anna's eyes widened, wondering what he wanted to do. She could feel his hot breath on her skin. If only she wasn't trapped by his body, she'd have taken flight. Her heart was slamming so hard in her chest. She knew that it would take only a miracle for him not to hear her heartbeat. It was so loud that Anna felt like someone was drumming in her chest.

"Are you scared of something?" Xander suddenly asked. She could only keep mum as he spoke because his presence was doing things to her. It was making her feel things that she hadn't felt before- things that were completely foreign to her. Her body was beginning to have a mind of its own.

His long fingers trailed along her smooth face and Anna felt sparks in her body with just that light touch of his. She prayed for the elevator door to open because she was scared that her resolve would crumble. It was as though God answered her prayer because the door clicked open almost immediately.

That seemed to be a sort of wake-up call for Mr Williams too, at least, she thought, because he removed his hand from her cheeks. But his hands touched her chin instead, raising it.

He whispered into her ears softly, "the night is still new." What? What did he mean by that, Anna thought.

Did he plan on doing something? He rambled very gracefully as he stepped out of the elevator. He looked like a beautiful god with his defined gait.

He led her through another beautiful hallway which had some sort of relaxation spot at the right corner. She could see a brown sofa in the place, which was distinct from the other parts of the hallway. It had pillars and several chandeliers were hung on the ceiling of the place. She wondered if he came here to unwind sometimes. Through the glass windows, one could see the view outside. There was a large table on the opposite side of the sofa room. She could see a white piano and a chair there. It had never crossed her mind that Mr Williams could be the kind that liked to play the piano. He didn't seem like that kind of person at all.

Where was he taking her? She thought.

He came to a stop at a door that he unlocked with his fingerprints. Anna could only gape. Anna would not be surprised if she found robots in the house. Mr Williams was a technologically advanced kind of man- if there was anything like that.

As Anna entered the room, she was stunned once again. Never had she seen a room as big as the one she was staring at now. It was the most beautiful room she'd ever seen in her life.
