"Any news mum?" Fiona asked her mother as they sat beside the swimming pool in their home. They lay stretched out on the lounge chair after swimming for a while. They covered their eyes with dark sunglasses while sipping tequila.
"I made some progress." Theresa replied. "I was able to reach out to her boyfriend. Turns out that we're in luck because he needs money and is willing to do a whole lot for the right price."
"Are we talking about a whole lot of money?" Fiona asked the mother.
"Not really. Just few dollars. Church rats like that jump so high when the are offered peanuts. They rarely see such amount of cash their entire life." Theresa answered. "I made a cash transfer to him two days ago. He's on our side right now and his job is to get his girlfriend far away from the price as possible. He also understand what will happen to him if he fails."
"Great." Fiona replied smiling mischievously. "This is one of the reason I always confide in you when I'm faced with challenges. Thank you so much mum."
"You're welcome darling." Theresa replied stretching out her hands to the side to touch her daughters. "I had a conversation with Emily Kentley as well. We need an invite to her daughter's wedding. I had to pretend that I've misplaced ours. Long story short, she promised to send down another pair for us. We're going to the wedding baby." Theresa said smiling wildly.
"Don't I just love you too much mum. I'm still thinking of sending an indirect message to the whore. Maybe a little threat to kickstart the movement. She looks like a puppet, I wouldn't mind turning her into a scared puppet." She said gently removing her sunshade with an evil smile on her lips.
"That's a good one too. Ensure that the threat will have an effect on her. We need her scared. Scared enough that she won't be able to open up to Simon." Theresa replied. "Baby," she called Fiona. "How do you plan on winning him over. How are you going to get his attention. Simon is a hard nut to crack and we know that."
"Through his mother." Fiona answered.
"Emily?"
"Yes mum."
"Emily once had a soft spot for me. Let's hope the spot is still there and I'll be able to revive it. I'll offer them help a week to the wedding. Just like old times when they invite me over to stay with them few days to any celebrations they have scheduled at their home. I'll win Emily over just like old times.
"Baby, that was a long time ago. You were best friends with Anna then remember. But not anymore. Anna doesn't want to see you and so does Simon. How then are you going to get an invite to their home before the wedding?" Theresa asked her daughter.
"Don not worry mum, I have a plan. I'll tell you as it progresses. I need to go to my room, I might catch a cold if I don't." Fiona said standing up. She adjusted her sunglasses, put on her robe and left for her room.
