Chapter 34: Best Siblings

"What do you want from her in return for your favor Si. I know you brother. You want something. What is it?" Anna asked Simon to have him seat up. Having been very close to him, she knew him well enough. That was the best part of her relationship with him. She kept looking at him waiting for his answer.

"I want to extend her services to a year maybe. Not that the salary will be able to compensate for the whole loan, but her cheerful company definitely will. Anna looked at her brother with intent eyes. She wondered why her brother suddenly want Paige around. Few days ago, they argued like they couldn't stand each other. If she can remember vividly, He even threatened to sack her.

"Am I missing something Si? Cause I don't understand how you'll want to throw a huge amount of money away just because you want her to stay for a few more months. What do you want from her? You're not falling for her, are you?" She asked him.

"I just want her company. It's helping with my addiction. Maybe I can start therapy again and with her around, I might stand a chance at redemption." He said lazily. Anna was surprised and she didn't bother to hide it. She walked up to her brother and squatted in front of him.

"You're not joking right? You're really going to start therapy again?" She asked him in a hushed and cracked voice. Hearing him talk about therapy once more was like a big miracle. He's been battling with his addiction for sex for a very long time. He's had sessions with three different therapist so far before giving up. Anna was the only one in the family that knew about his addiction and they have kept it a secret between them away from other members of the family. She have also been the one that have kept encouraging him to seek help via therapy.

"Don't tell me you've told her. You didn't tell her, did you?" She asked him.

"I've not. I've not gotten there with her yet. For now, I'm just an employer who cares a great deal for his employee. But we have enough time since she'll be extending her stay with us." He replied.

"You act like you're so sure she'd say yes. What if she doesn't agree? What if she reject the offer?." Anna asked again.

"Then I'll make her another offer. Anything to keep the ball rolling." He replied shrugging.

Anna finally stood and took a seat beside him. "Let's hope you know what you are doing and you're seriously thinking straight. Simon, Do not take advantage of her nor try to turn her into your......"

"You know me sister," he started, cutting her short. I'll never do that. If we ever wish to engage in anything, it will be with her full consent in a conscious state. Moreso, she doesn't really like me much. So, that might never happen." He replied. "Anyway, let's hope she agrees to extend her stay. She's so strong willed and honestly, I'm thrilled by her and I enjoy her company so much."

"What will she be doing for you? She's not used to the trophy lifestyle. I see how much she struggle staying home all day. Unless you plan on allowing her work at your cardiac center." She said thoughtfully.

"Anna, I'll advise that you mind your business and not concern yourself with my personal life. When the time is right, I'll let you know so that you can draw up another contract for the extension." He said uncrossing his leg. Leaving his sister with a full blown surprise expression. "Were you successful with what you went to Acubana to do?" He further asked.

Anna regained her composure before replying. "My source says Dasilver was spotted at Madre-city two days ago. He's on the run. We'll be updated with his exact location soon." Anna told him. "What do you plan on doing to him? Do you want him dead?"

Simon looked at his sister with a smirk. "I'm forced to think that death is such a common word to you these days Anna. Let me know his location once your source updates you." He replied calmly.

"I will." She replied. "What about Philip Emerson? Any news on his health?"

"He's getting better. He should be moved home in a couple of weeks. Let's hope he doesn't try creating trouble for himself." He said.

"Even if he doesn't, let's hope he doesn't listen to what people have to say or he doesn't have godfathers who will push him to his own death." Anna said leaning her head on the arm rest of the couch she was lying on. While Simon readjusted his position on his chair. "Meanwhile, your sister June said she'll be coming home tomorrow evening." She continued.

"Oh Lord!" Simon exclaimed. "The house is so stuffy already, why make it more unconducive." Simon complained feigning concern.

"Because we need you to choke to death." Anna said laughing out loud.

"Such hatred on your only brother." He said sorrowfully which made his sister laugh even more. "Well, I'll need you to put a rush on the house purchase. From what I grabbed from Paige, the stepmother is a crazy mother fucker from hell."

"Oh wow!" Anna exclaimed. "I'll send a word now." She said and started typing something on her phone. "Done." She said dropping her phone beside her. "Once I get a positive feedback tomorrow, I'll go down and finalize everything in two days. You want me to make the purchase at all cost right?"

"Yes please." Simon replied.

"Consider it done then. Ahha!" She exclaimed as she remembered something. "I'm even thinking of taking Emily to Acubana for a while. I've altered my wall paintings to her choice of paint colors and the furnitures too. So, she'll be quite comfortable. She might visit a dentist over there as well. She's been complaining of her teeth recently." Anna told him.

"I don't think that is a great idea." Simon replied.

"Why not?" Anna asked with a serious face.

"Well, Paige will want to go with y'all. And I'll be stuck here all alone." He complained making her smile.

"Oh wow! Coming from someone that said he doesn't give a damn about Paige. Well, if you must know, going to Acubana with Emily is just me trying to give the both of you time to yourselves. Maybe you can get to know each other better." Anna replied.

"But mother's health....

"Is perfect." Anna cut him short. We all know how good she is these days. She's stronger now and seem to have forgotten the bad old days. I applaud you for taking your time to renovate the whole mansion. It helped her get rid of some memories. The house actually look different from how I use to remember it." Anna praised him.

"This has to be the best thing I've ever heard you say in days. Please take your sister to your place when you're leaving and thank you for the compliments." Simon said.

"You're welcome. I'll just call June later and tell her not to bother coming rather she should meet up with us at my place. And oh! I'm not doing this for just you. I'm doing it for Paige as well. The last I remember, you said you were not into her anyway. Anna said.

"And you think Tedson is best for her?" Simon asked charged up.

"Frankie is a gentleman." Anna replied.

"And I'm not?" He asked her. "Tedson is obsessed with you and he's always been. He'd literally do anything just to get close to you. Including pretending to date someone close to you. The earlier you face this reality, the better for you. Stop shifting him to others. Miss Men are scum. Simon said standing up. Anna stood alongside him with a surprise expression.

"Si, for the hundredth time, are you falling I'm love with Paige. She asked him ignoring his earlier comment about Frankie. Whatever he had to say about Frankie was really not her business because she was so sure that she doesn't feel a thing for him.

"Love has never been my thing sister. There are certain things that I'm not cut out for. So, no, I'm not falling in love with her. At least, not yet." He replied standing up "I'll see you around." He said and made his way to his room. Getting to the floor he shares with Paige, he thought of going to her room to see her or waiting till tomorrow. A little part of him thought it more reasonable to allow her some space while a greater part of him wanted to see her, to make sure she was alright. Once he got to her door, the latter won because he found himself unable to move past her door to his room. He took a minute to catch his breath. Though he took enough time climbing the not so high staircase, he still felt nervous and out of breath standing in front of her door.

He knocked and waited patiently for Paige to answer the door. Few seconds later, the door lock clicked and Paige appeared at the doorway with a slightly wet hair and a see through arm length mesh gown. He cursed the inner slip she had on for preventing him from getting a great view of this perfection in human form standing right in front of him.
