Chapter 82: I know my son

"Where is your brother and his girlfriend?" Noah kentley asked his youngest son as they sat round the dinning table about to eat breakfast.

"She's not his girlfriend yet." Felix replied in a low tone surprising his parents.

"What's that?" Sarah asked.

"I wanted to ask just the same thing." Noah chipped in looking at Felix surprised.

"Is there a problem?" Noah asked his son.

"Of course not. I'm just stating a fact, that's all." Felix replied leaning his back on the seat rest. "They should be here soon though." He added in a relaxed voice. Few minutes later, Frankie and Paige appeared in the dinning hall. Paige's hair was tied behind into a knot with her soft pink lips drawn back in a smile as they walked up to the Tedsons at the dinning table.

"Good morning Sir, ma." She greeted Noah and Sarah respectively. "Fe." She called Felix smiling warmly at him while Felix nodded with a straight face without looking up at her.

"Good morning my Angel." Sarah greeted. "Thank you for joining us today." She added. While Noah nodded in agreement with whatever his wife said.

"Good morning Dad, mum." Frankie greeted helping Paige to a seat. She sat down comfortably with a warm smile. Her gorgeous angelic face void of makeup shown and glowed effortlessly.

"Good morning son and you too Paige." Noah said. "I hope you slept well? Forgive us for keeping you up for way too long night." He added.

"Oh no!" Paige started. "I should apologize as well. I left everyone out there to bed. It wasn't such a nice thing to do." She added.

"Oh please my love." Sarah cut her short. "It is understandable. I would have felt so stressed out if I were in your shoes as well. We are truly sorry for the stress darling." She said warmly and Paige nodded shyly

"Can we eat please?" Felix asked nobody in particular. He was getting irritated with everything happening at the table. The maids saw this as a cue and immediately came forward to serve them food.

Noah cleared his throat as he turned to Paige. "So Paige," he started. "Frankie told me that you are Emily Kentley's carer." He said.

"Yes, I am." Paige replied confidently.

"That's lovely." Said Noah. "Is it a permanent job?" He asked.

"No it's not. It's temporary." She added.

"Oh, okay. When is your service with them expiring then?" He further asked.

"Pretty soon." She replied refusing to add a time frame to it as she remembered her contract with Simon and she realized that she needed time to plan herself and her reply to that particular question so as to stick to the same reply whenever the question comes up again.

"Darling," Sarah called tapping her husband on the shoulder. "Table manners please." She complained.

"Alright, I'm sorry." Noah apologized and focused on his food. With this, the table fell into absolute quietness with everybody focused on their food. Conversations were paused. This felt a bit weird to Paige as she compared it to the Kentleys way of life where dinning together was an opportunity to bond with each other. The dinning hall at the Kentleys mansion was hardly a place for quiet. There will always be loud voices during breakfast, lunch and dinner, lots of joke to go by and things to talk about. Even when one dines alone, there will always be Sherman with the endless chats to keep them company. She glanced round the people sitted at the table and nobody seem to give a care about the quietness as they were all engrossed with their food.

She ate her omelette slowly recalling the perfect and tasty omelette Simon prepares. The difference will always be in the taste as Simon's omelette always have the soft home made taste which she lack words to describe because it was perfect. She cast a glance at Frankie and saw him starring at her with a smile, she smiled right back and struggled a bit to bring her thoughts together. It was wrong of her to compare the Kentleys to the Tedsons. They are two different families with different morals and lifestyle. The Tedson's finished their breakfast in no time except Paige who was rather picking at her food as the taste wasn't so great.

"You don't like the food?" Sarah asked her.

"I do," she faked a smile "I'm just a bit full this morning. I guess it is the effect of overfeeding last night. I had way too much food." She said smiling.

"Okay. I thought it was the food cause it was prepared by our best chef and it actually taste very good right?" She asked everyone at the table.

"Sure, yes." Came their reply.

"I couldn't have agreed more. The food is very tasty." She lied nodding her head.

Slowly, Noah stood up and helped his wife up as well. "It's really nice meeting you Paige. You are welcome to my family abd I look forward to seeing more of you." He told paige.

"It's entirely my pleasure." Paige replied as Frankie helped her up as well. Noah and his wife gave her a warm hug before proceeding to the sitting room.

"Go get ready Fe, you will be leaving for the office soon." Noah informed his younger son. "Or would you prefer working from home today? I just need you to review some business documents from Kentley. He presented me with a mouth watering real estate offer last night. So, I need you to look into the details.

Felix who was still seated looked at his brother who was standing beside Paige holding her like a won trophy. He smiled from the corner of his lips. "Why not Frankie? He's always the one capable of reviewing such deals. Or am I missing something?" He asked with gaze still glued at Frankie.

Frankie smiled as he already knew that his brother was still mad at him. "If you guys will excuse us, myself and Paige have something planned up that we need to attend to." He said pulling Paige along with him.

"Mr Tedson, Sarah, Felix." Paige called each of them as a form of greeting before leaving them behind as she followed Frankie outside. She wondered what real estate business Simon pitched  to Noah Tedson. The pull on her arm by Frankie brought her back to reality as she felt the pain on her flesh. "That hurts." She told him wincing in pain.

"Oh, I didn't realize that. I'm so sorry." Frankie apologized regretting that he allowed his anger take a toll on him. He released his hold on her and led her outside to the garden that was already set and made ready for their mini picnic.

Back inside the house, Felix and his parents made their way to the sitting room which was right next to the dinning hall. "What was all the madness for?" Sarah asked Felix angrily.

"I only asked a harmless question." Felix replied leaning on the arm of the sofa.

"In front of our guests? You're trying to create a stupid impression in front of a guests? That is unlike you Felix. What came over you? She asked again while Noah sat down with a worrisome face.

"Fine, I'm sorry. I should have known better than to behave in such manner in front of our guests. It won't repeat itself." Felix apologized looking at his father who just nodded his head.

"That's fine." Noah replied. "You can relax today then. You must not go to the office. I guess you need some rest. I'm here as well, if you want talk about anything." He added.

"Thank you dad." Felix told him and made his way upstairs after giving his mother a hug.

"I like her." Noah told his wife once Felix was out of view.

"You like who. Paige?"

"Yes. She seem nice." He replied.

"You should know me honey," Sarah started taking a seat beside her husband. "I have eyes for gems. She is a very nice girl." Sarah said dramatically.

"Hmm, no doubt. But aren't you worried about their mismatch? She is not really franklin's type of girl." Noah complained.

"Who is his type of girl then? Beside, when was the last time he brought a girl home. No, that is far fetched. When was the last time he dated a girl really?" She asked.

Noah shrugged his shoulders. "Brought a girl home, that should be never. But he must have dated someone. He might have been hiding them."

"Not baby, not Frankie. That boy can't even hide his socks successfully. If he's been in a relationship before now, we should have known or seen the signs.

"Franklin is not a baby my love. He is almost forty.

"Frankie is thirty five." She corrected.

"We're saying the same thing. Thirty five is almost forty my love." He told her.

"I'm not doubting that. But I know my son. This is the only relationship Frankie have been in since his infatuation with Anna kentley and I'm so happy he chose a nice girl. Someone that have his wellbeing at heart.
