Chapter 61: Leaving Lakeview

Back at Lakeview,  Paige stood in front of the mirror. She was still in the guest room she slept in the previous night. She was putting on a lovely ash colored dress Simon got for her. She twirled round stunned at the perfection and beauty of the dress. The back of the dress was low cut and stopped at her waistline with a tiny knotted rope at her mid back. She smiled satisfactorily. She reached out to the shopping bag the dress came in and emptied all it's content with included a four inches silver glitters heel, a perfume and a bracelet! She didn't need a seer to tell her what precious stone the bracelet was made of. "Simon." She whispered in awe.

A knock came on the door and Paige let the person in. Mrs Newman walked in. She had help take Paige's tote bag which had her few belongings to the car while Paige dressed up. "Oh, Mrs. Newman." She called. "How do I look?" She asked her.

"You look adorable. There are no words to actually describe how breath taking you look honestly. The dress is perfect, so are you." Mrs Newman told her and this earned her a warm hug from Paige.

"Thank you so much." Paige said.

"You're welcome ma. Is there something else I can do for you?"

"Yes please, you can start by calling me Paige Mrs. Newman. It's a far more better name."

Veronica Newman acted like she was giving the request a thought before replying her. "I'm sorry, but I can't. You are my employer." She replied.

"I am not your employer. Simon is." Paige corrected.

"But you're my employer's fiancee." Mrs. Newman protested. "I can't call you by your name."

"What? I am nothing of such Mrs. Newman. Where did you hear that from?" Paige asked alarmed.

Veronica Newman paused. She overheard one of the guards talk about Paige and he called her the boss's fiancee. She is very sure of that. Could it be that she didn't hear them correctly? She wondered. "I must have let my imaginations take the better part of me ma'am." Mrs. Newman replied. She honestly wished she didn't call Paige Simon's fiancee.

"It's okay." Paige said. "I can relate. "Could you please help with my bracelet?" She asked stretching out her right hand and handing the bracelet over to her.

"Sure." Veronica replied and helped fix the bracelet round Paige's wrist. Even without being told, she knew she ought to be extra careful while handling such a bracelet. "It's so lovely." She complimented once she was done.

"Thank you Paige replied spraying some perfume behind her ears.

"I'll be outside ma'am." Veronica finally said seeing that there was nothing else she could do for her. Barely two minutes later, Paige was ready for lunch with Simon. He said it was just a harmless lunch and she prayed it should be as he said.

Getting outside the house, the car was ready for their journey back to Lakeview with the passenger door open obviously for her while Bruce stood beside it. She looked around and saw Simon close to the lake with some men on black suits just like the one Bruce was putting on, the only difference was the color of Bruce's tie which was a navy blue instead of red. "You look lovely today Bruce." Paige complimented him on getting to the car causing Bruce to blush.

"Thank you so much Miss. Paige." He replied with a bow.

"What is Simon doing?" She asked standing at the door of the passengers seat.

"I have no idea ma'am." Bruce replied. He had no plan of discussing his boss with anyone, not even his woman. Just then Simon finished up with his discussion and started heading back to the car. He had seen Paige come out from the house. In fact, he stared at her for a while keeping Charles and two of his men waiting while he focused his gaze on her. Anna helped him with Paige's dress size while he took the pain to go through the clothing website of "Nolla" one of the most expensive female fashion brands in Yardstin. He knew exactly what he wanted and how he wanted Paige to look and seeing her even from such distance, he felt the satisfaction and sense of accomplishment within him. She was perfect, everything about her. Simon hurriedly dismissed Charles and his men and headed to the car. He didn't want to keep Paige waiting.

"Hey." He called once he got close to the car. "I'm so sorry for keeping you waiting." He told her.

"No, it's okay. I didn't stand for long. "You look great." She said.

"Thank you." He replied. "Shall we?" He gestured towards the car. Paige nodded and took one last look at the house. She saw Mrs. Newman standing at the porch with a dull smile. She waved at her before entering the car and Veronica Newman waved right back smiling wider.

"You seem to have taken a liking to my cook." Simon said sitting opposite her.

"She's a nice person." Paige replied shrugging her shoulders.

"Hmmm, okay." He replied. "By the way, you look so beautiful. Your dress is lovely as well."

"Thank you." She replied. "For the dress too. I really love it, honestly. Come to think of it, how did you know my size. Anna right?" Simon nodded in response. "Did she picked the dress too?" She further asked.

"No, the dress was me." He replied.

"It's beautiful. You have great taste."

"Thank you." He said again.

The remaining journey to "Tenor and Bralle" restaurant continued in silence. Tenor and Bralle is owned by one of Simon's best friend. Over the years, it has grown bigger and presently, It is among the top five biggest restaurants in Yardstin. Bruce maneuvered slowly to a sharp left turn and they were faced with a large white building with the name Tenor and Bralle inscribed on a sign and hung on the building towards it's roof. The building was surrounded by tall pine and gmelina trees. Bruce pulled into the last parking space in the parking lot. "We're here Boss." He announced to their hearing.
