Killer Revenge

The assassin has been walking the cold, deserted streets all night long in search of another victim, someone to take Steven's place. She knows it won't be as satisfying, but with her adrenaline pumping through her at an accelerated speed, it'll have to do for now.

She's less than a mile from the outskirts of the small southern town when she hears a woman's frantic cries for help. Shining her flashlight around, she begins searching the grounds. She soon discovers a burly man beating on a woman half his size. The half-naked lady hand's are chained to a rusty car frame. The rest of her body is pinned to the ground by his weight.

Flashbacks from her childhood come to mind. The numerous times her drunken daddy cuffed her to her bed. Saying she could either put out or get out. She was only six at the time. I'll be damned if it's going to happen to someone else.

With her knife held above her head, she sprints across the grassy lot.

Seeing someone running towards him, the man quickly stands.

Leaping onto the man, she shoves the knife deep into his neck. She turns the knife clockwise as she jerks it out. The carotid artery and the jugular veins are the two quickest ways to cause a person to bleed out. With the growing crowd and the police station nearby, the assassin knew she was pressed for time.

The man stumbles backward. Losing his balance, he and the assassin tumble to the ground.

Springing to her feet, the killer stabs him again, puncturing his lung. If one injury doesn't get you, the other will.

The man gasps for air as the blood pool all around him.

The group of homeless continue to stare in delight. Happy someone is finally taken him out. Bubba has been nothing but trouble since he first arrived, but with the local gang backing him up, they knew better than to try anything.

The killer sees red and blue lights flashing across the predawn skies. "I'm going to make sure you never hurt another woman again."

Grabbing his shirt, she lifts his head from the ground and says, "Think you're a tuff guy, beating on defenseless women. Well, I'm here to show you just how tough you are. Slamming his head against the ground, she raises her knife and stabs him again.

She looks over to find the woman he beat unconscious on the cold hard ground. Her mind goes back to that dreadful day she found her mom.

She came home from school to find her mother lying on the couch. Penny first thought she'd passed out again with an empty vodka bottle on the floor beside her and a line of coke on the table ready to go, a typical mid-week thing. As Penny gets closer, she notices blood pooling around her head, Her mom's skin is ashen, not the normal bleach white. She then hears her father slamming kitchen cabinets, cursing as he goes.

Meeting her baby sister at the door, Penny grabs her hand and drags her away. Once they were safely at the neighbors, Penny explained what she'd found. Stockholm syndrome at its best. Her mom believed she deserved what she got. Often saying he wouldn't beat me every night if I was a better wife and a better mom.

Beth, like their mother, believed she deserved what she got. Behavior Beth learned to accept as a norm.

He wouldn't be so upset if I'd handled things better, do what I'm told. Beth would often say. A few times, she said, " I guess I'm just like Mom when it comes to pleasing a man." No matter how hard the assassin tried, she couldn't convince Beth it wasn't her fault that Steven's brain was wired wrong, just like the nice church ladies couldn't convince their mom to leave Dad.

Penny always protected Beth, shielding her from what she could. Beth knew Dad beat Mom, but not to what extent. Beth didn't know about their daddy's nightly visits to Penny's room, and she didn't realize how bad her mom's drinking and drug habits had become.

Penny often blames herself for being overprotective, thinking if she'd seem more, be more prepared, Beth wouldn't have turned out the way she did.

The screeching sirens snap Penny back to reality. "I'm going to make sure you don't survive."

The man struggles to get up the assassin kicks him back down. "I'm not done with your skank ass yet," she spat.

Lifting her weapon, she stabs him one last time. Turning toward the growing crowd, she waves her bloody knife around and says, "Say one word to the cops, and you'll be next."

Lifting their hands in surrender, the crowd backs away.

Shoving the weapon in her jacket, she darts out of sight.

The sirens continue to get closer. Red and blue lights brighten the dark evening skies as the killer dashes out of sight. That took some of my frustration out, but it wasn't nearly enough, she thinks, heading back the way she came.

The killer has regretted her decision to leave all night, thinking she should've killed him and then figured out the rest. Her retribution has been boiling under the surface for far too long for her to wait.

I'll take care of Bill once Beth is at work. She thinks, conjuring a plan in her mind.

Beth said Steven goes out to feed the animals once she leaves. It takes Beth around fifteen minutes to get to work. I'll give her enough time to clock in, then do what needs to be done, the killer things, planning the killing in her mind.

I bet there's a bunch of stuff I can torture you with in there. She thinks, eyeing the barn. It'll be payback for what you did to my baby sis. A few ideas come to mind. This is better than my original plan. The assassin thinks. Slipping into the barn, she glances around. I'm going to make you suffer to the end. Smiling to herself, she gets to work.

The assassin is securing the last rope when she hears footsteps outside the barn door. Finishing her job, she runs to the entrance and waits. This is to make sure he never hurts you again. Smiling to herself, she raises the crowbar and takes a batter's stance.

I'm ready for you now, you sorry piece of shit. Griping the metal weapon tighter, she shifts her weight back and forth. I've wanted to do this since the day we met. She tried to warn Beth about him but her sister, like Janet, was head over heels in love. Adjusting her grip on the bar as she anxiously composes her stance.

After what seems like an eternity, the barn door squeaks open. The assassin hears heavy footsteps and then something being dragged across the ground. He's probably bringing in the feed. She realigns her posture one last time. Get ready to face the end.

Reaching up, he switches on the light.

The killer's eyes immediately fall on the dead body, sprawled out amongst the dirt. "Beth," she cries, falling to the ground.

Hearing her voice, Steve spins around.

"You killed her. You killed my baby, sis, Penny sobs"

Smiling, Steven says, "And you're next. Raising his gun, Steven aims his pistol at Penny's head.
