His Hope Is Crushed

Seeing Ye Yikun like that, Ye Leng'an didn't feel sorry for him. She believed he got what he deserved.

Leaning against the wall, Ye Yikun saw Ye Leng'an come in but stayed put. He didn't show any anger or bitterness, just glanced at Ye Leng'an briefly before turning away.

Observing Ye Yikun's demeanor, Ye Leng'an smirked. "Oh, looks like Old Master Ye has surrendered, huh?"

Even though Ye Yikun appeared resigned, she couldn't buy it. Even in such tough times, she doubted he'd really throw in the towel. To her, his current attitude was probably just a show to mislead others. But she wasn't bothered. Her goal today was to shatter all of Ye Yikun's hopes.

"What's the point?" Ye Yikun looked at Ye Leng'an, his expression unmoved. "Ye Leng'an, did you come here today just to ridicule a failure like me?"

"Of course not," Ye Leng'an replied with a smile, shaking her head. "I came to show you something."
