Volume 4 Chapter 42: Meeting Derisha Companion

(Walson)

I need to talk about the recent situation that happened with Melon.

By the time I was kidnaped by those guys, she was not staying by my side because Melon was dealing with matters from her hometown at that time, and because of that, she feels quite guilty about this incident, which has caused her to become somewhat feeling anxious and tense toward pretty much everything in the past few days. She insists on staying by my side 24/7 with her figure in combat ready.

Even if I want to, I can't slip away either. Melon's scouting ability range is much larger than my [Mini-Map], and as long as I leave behind even a slight scent in my track, she will be able to accurately follow me down... However, this time the fault is indeed laid on me. I feel remorseful for making Melon so anxious.

From time to time, she'll say, "Master, you can't leave my side," and she'll hug me, just like a clingy child— Looking at it from this perspective, it's not a bad thing. After all, when Melon hugs me from the front, I can't help but appreciate my lack of height, because whenever she hugs me, my face would always be enveloped in her bountiful mountain.

It felt great.

Moving on, But her hometown matters still haven't been resolved. This morning, after repeatedly assuring and agreeing to use the [Party Telepathy] every hour to report my safety to her, she and Grace once again headed to the Palm Jungle.

And at this moment, I am in the empty granary borrowed from the military camp, constructing a new carriage.

The appearance is still that of a camping car, slightly smaller than the [Dog House]'s carriage, but still larger than a typical carriage. The original design of [Dog House] was tailored for someone with the size of Rifle, so the size of the carriage is considerably larger than a standard one.

"Brother Walson, what are you doing?" A tender voice calls out my name.

To be called "Brother Walson" by a girl is something that is endearing. It's even more delightful to hear it coming from the lips of a cute girl.

"This is the carriage's bearing. With this, when you ride the carriage, it won't sway violently, and sitting inside will be more comfortable," I patiently explained to the girl that Derisha saved on her way here.

With deep blue wavy curled hair, standing at around 1.5 meters tall, dressed in a simple khaki-colored dress, shining bright blue eyes, and an innocent and pure smile...

She's a young girl, with a flat chest, and a heart full of purity, and her name is Tanaya.

From what Tanaya told me while watching me work with the carriage, Derisha saved her from slavery on her way here. And due to gratitude, she asked Derisha to be allowed to work for her, and now, her current identity is Derisha's maid.

But what's particularly unique is that from the middle of her deep blue bangs, there's a shiny jet-black horn protruding proudly.

She's a Horned Demon! I haven't encountered one in the 16 years since my reincarnation. Even in the orphanage books that I often read, they're described as a very rare race–- I never expected to encounter one of them in a place like this, It's truly unexpected.

However... She seems smaller than what the books described. Even for a young individual, she shouldn't be this small– Oh well, as long as she's cute.

"Um, what are these?" Tanaya pointed to the [Redstone Repeaters] and [Redstone Dust] I placed on the ground.

"These, well, they're called [Redstone]," I said straightforwardly. Since she's someone who is working for Derisha, there's no need to hide anything.

"Redstone?" Tanaya tilted her head in confusion.

"Yes, you can think of these things as conductors..." Trying my best to suppress my desire to hug her with a smile full of delight at the cute action that Tanaya did unconsciously, I patiently explained what [Redstone] is to Tanaya.

I realized this kind of thing was quite challenging for the people of this world. In Minecraft, [Redstone] is based on Earth's electrical circuits, but in this world, there's no concept of circuits. So, without that reference template, it took me around ten minutes to explain it, and Tanaya was barely able to grasp the concept of what it is.

"Um..." Tanaya blinked, unsure if she understood.

Just as I was about to explain again, Tanaya suddenly revealed a smile that bloomed like a sunflower.

"Brother Walson! Can I try it?"

God damn it! I'm weak with this kind of thing!

"Of course!" I agreed, and rightly so! Instead of explaining, why not just show her practically?

With that, I took out several items related to [Redstone] from my inventory and placed them in front of Tanaya. I began explaining some basic usage methods to her.

Although there wasn't much [Redstone] left, it's definitely no problem to let the little loli play with it!

It's the first time I've encountered someone in this otherworld who's so interested in Minecraft items... But it also reminded me that Minecraft is a game designed to spark creativity. Back on Earth, it's even used as educational material for children.

The basic operations of [Redstone] are actually quite simple, much like assembling circuits. Tanaya quickly learned, and with a joyful expression, she ran off with her new toy.

"This carriage looks quite unique," a silvery bell-like voice caught my attention as a woman slid into the granary through a small door.

"Hm? Oh, hey Alice," I replied casually, "Not to brag, but you would find it difficult to find someone who can craft something similar to what I made."

With her red, cascading curly hair, leather vest, white shirt, and a purple snake tail, her name is Alice.

She's also one of the people brought by the quirky princess, belonging to the Lamia race, and claims to be a retainer of Derisha... Why are all the people around Derisha so unique?

By the way, I've been entrusted with taking care of Tanaya while Alice was out.

"You do have quite the confidence, and rightly so. The fact that you can forge an item using something like the Orhag steel indeed gives you the right to boast such a word."

"It's not that big of a deal," I shrugged in embarrassment. It's true, after all, those things that I made are just a product of Minecraft [Crafting Table]. Instead of this, I'm more puzzled about something else.

Why is the receptionist of the Adventurer's Guild able to travel like this? As far as I know, those reception ladies rarely leave their counters unless necessary.

I've seen Alice wearing the Adventurer's Guild receptionist uniform a few times. She introduced herself as such, so...

"The only adventurer that I'm responsible for is Derisha, so wherever she goes, I'll follow," Alice explained.

Huh? I didn't say anything just now, how does she know what I was wondering about?

"I'm quite good at reading people's expressions," Alice smiled and walked toward Tanaya, who was playing with the redstone, "Tanaya, let's go back to the inn."

"Huh? Come to think of it, where's Derisha? The carriage is almost done, and I wanted her to take a look."

"Your fiancée just went to the Adventurer's Guild. She might come later," Alice said, "Well then, we'll be on our way, good bye."

"See you tomorrow, Brother Walson!"

Alice's parting words left me feeling a bit awkward. Watching them leave, I didn't quite know what to say for a moment.

...Oh well, let's not worry about that for now.

With the quirky princess, Alice, and Tanaya, our travel party has increased from four to seven. That's also why I crafted a new carriage. The original space of the Dog House carriage wouldn't be enough for so many people to sleep in it, especially with the bulky Lamia.

The good news is that they brought along a very robust black horse, so at least I don't have to worry about camel-beast issues.

...So, right now, with seven people and two beasts coming along in this journey, I wonder if we have enough supplies to feed all of us, otherwise, It seems I'll need to find time to purchase some more.
