There was silence.

After making it a point to step around the pool of blood left behind by the creep and directly into the darkness, I had come to the realization that the both of the guards ordered to carry my dress had briefly lifted it before they allowed the door to shut behind me. I found their actions to be rather strange and I was unsure of what would make them abandon their duty just as soon as I passed through the entryway. Earlier and before we parted ways, I could've sworn Ruth had ordered them to assist me with carrying the gown. As lovely as Jadelle's creation was, it was rather unfortunate how much of a burden it would be to walk around with it on my own all night.

Especially within this complete and utter darkness.

Alone.

How could anyone navigate through this without any source of light? Or assistance?

There's no way in hell I'd be able to catch up to the man on the horse at this rate.

Like hello?
