Chapter 5: sealed deal

She looked at elyraeth expression and let out soft laugh, it was light and beautiful.

"You're right, I did have a reason for doing that, two actually" she said calmly.

"One, was I already knew he would have gone rogue, with or without my intervention, as I wrote the plot, I discovered that I gave him too much ambition, so I decided to ask elyraeth for a favor, a dream, dream of the future,

Why you ask ?, because I needed a reason to tamper with my own plot indirectly " she looked at me with a quiet expression, her gaze asking if I understood.

"Why can't you change it directly, it's your words, don't you want to or can't you?" I asked —though the answer struck me the moment the words left my mouth."

"I can't " she replied in quiet honesty, " my powers are too strong, the moment I try to so much as speak to any character, the plane will destabilize, self destruct " she continued.

" That's why I requested for elyraeth to intervene, allowing me to repent for my 'mistake' and giving you a second chance". she sighed softly at the end of her statement.

I looked at her and asked" what was the other reason "

"Huh" She blinked, slightly lost.

"You said you had two reasons, what was the other " I asked languidly.

Elyraeth looked at her with mischief in his eyes, " yes, do enlighten us"

She looked hesitant but then eventually admitted it

"I showed him the dream because I wanted to test what kind of Sovereign he'd become. I wanted to see if destiny could survive premature revelation."

I stared at her.

"You gambled the fate of an entire plane… because you were curious?"

She blinked up at the ceiling.

"Curiosity is an essential tool of creation. So is chaos."

Elyraeth, with an exhale and tired smile:

"She says things like this often. You get used to it."

"Great" I said, sarcasm oozing in every syllable.

"And why do you expect me to agree to this.... whatever this situation is" I asked quite curious where her confidence stems from.

She looked at me quietly and says with feigned innocence," cause you have a very big head"

Lucien: "..."

The fact that is coming from someone who post her own motivational quotes in her own room.

I cleared my throat and ignored her previous statement

"Speak plainly"

She smiles and explained:

" Your pride is almost as big as my novel collection, the fact that you are aware that all your actions was puppeteered by me makes you....deeply uncomfortable."

I narrowed my gaze and said slowly

"And the fact I know you are baiting is also making me deeply uncomfortable."

"Yeah, but would you rather be stubborn now or forever live with the knowledge that you were stringed puppet all along ?" she asked

"You mean forever remember, cause you know, he's dead." Elyraeth chimed in dryly

"Wow, thanks for the reminder " they both echoed, one in amusement the other in sarcasm.

"So... are you in" she asked calmly already knowing the answer, it irked me to know I gave her the satisfaction of proving her right.

She smiled in quiet confidence

" And besides", she added gently

"I know you missed them"

I calmed myself down and accepted my current situation, I honestly did feel uncomfortable about the whole puppet show shenanigans and I did miss my family, so I really had no problem.

It's not like I ever planned on not doing it, Come on — a second chance? And the opportunity to utterly ruin that self-righteous bastard Stormblade?

It would be my pleasure.

"Sure, I agree to this deal, under three condition

I met her gaze squarely.

First — that under no circumstances would there be any heavenly intervention of any kind, including ; whispers, vision and especially dreams" I glanced quickly at elyraeth

Second —I will be taking this book with me

Third and most importantly immediately the plane has been restored you will take the book back and erase every memory this celestial meeting and truth I learnt today, I go back to being ignorant."

I looked at them calmly and asked

"Are we clear"

" Yes sir" quill answered clearly amused .

Then, grinning as if she were indulging a child:

"Look at him taking charge, they grow up so fast"

"Yes, takes after his author, extremely controlling and bluntly authoritative." Elyraeth responded softly.

Lucien and the 9th angel who is extremely controlling and bluntly authoritative: "..."

" I really appreciate you for doing this Lucien" Quill said softly

"Don't flatter yourself — this decision was mine alone." I said languidly.

I could swear I saw a twitch in quill's smile.

"Yes. Anyway, since that's all done and said—" the 9th Angel began.

"You mean said and done," Elyraeth corrected gently.

"No, I mean done and said," she affirmed, glaring daggers at Stardust.

Elyraeth raised a brow at her, wanting to say something but deciding not to.

But quill wouldn't let it go, "do you know what I think I have a book titled that" she said as she crossed the room to get another glowing book with the title being

Done and said

and at the corner was 2nd best — 4096 written on it.

"Very futuristic. And it even came in first," she lied proudly, without a shred of shame, despite the visible rank printed on it.

While elyraeth just sighed softly and looks done with everything.

The three of us stood in momentary silence, suspended between the weight of the pact and the echo of our own absurdity. I'd just agreed to rewrite the fate of an entire world with the people who'd manipulated mine—and somehow, it felt almost… normal

But before I go, I had to know something very important.

"Quill, why me" I asked, she looked stunned and amused by the nickname but still responded rather vaguely.

"Why not, it was always going to be you,".

I rolled my eyes at her respose, what a load of bullshit, but since she didn't want to say the reason, I decided not to care .

I felt something was missing, I looked at her and asked in dryly

" Shouldn't you be sending me off with a speech or something"

She seems caught off but agreed, " I guess you're right, will one of my motivational quotes do, something like....

"Don't ."

She shrugged and grinned.

Elyraeth from where he has been sitting from the beginning offered me a reassuring nod," Good luck Lucien Thorneveil, try not to cause too much chaos"

" Why not, chaos is the foundation of creation right ?" I directed the question at quill

"No promises," I said, adjusting the book under my arm.

Then, just before the light overtook me, I glanced back.

" With any luck, this will be our final meeting... for quite some time."

Quill smiled and stardust nodded

"We hope so too."

Then a white light engulfed me and everything went dark.
