Chapter 17 : Picking the Maiden of Honor

Getting to the room they both cleaned up and changed Alex gave Damien some of his clothes making Damien look prince like before they both walked out of the room and headed for the ballroom where Alex was to dance with all the maidens before selecting which one he wanted to give the honor of been his maiden. Walking into the ballroom Damien saw about fifteen maidens all from high families but only five where important and had a better chance of getting picked they where the first maidens :

Elizabeth Warren first maiden of Dirish dynasty

Natasha Edward first maiden of Avalon

Lydia Coren first maiden of Nakuru dynasty

Penelope Gomez first maiden of the Perush dynasty

Diana Tryna first maiden of the Trident dynasty

Walking into the ballroom all eyes where on the two young man who seemed no different from the others those who didn't know Damien as Alexander's servant taught he was someone important .

The warden was told to announce Damien as Alexander's high Page which was usually the second to the royalty given the post so now Damien was to be part of the court of the king .

"presenting Prince Alexander and his High Page Damien "the doorward said as he gave way for Alex and Damien to stand in front of the Majesties.

"Alexander it seems you have filled your right hand post and upgraded your servant to a position at court" Grandmaster Garcias said staring at Damien with a laser sharp eye. He knew Damien had something in him that was special but he couldn't phantom what it was.

"yes Grandmaster" Alex replied staring at his father

"my son this is such a suprising change well we will get to the details later" King Edward said looking at Damien with a wondering gaze he knew his son wouldn't just give his servant a very important position in his court without having an ulterior motive but the question was if Damien knew what the motive was or was he kept in the dark.

"don't worry know we have a long time for that this is a time to select your maiden so qithout further delays lets get to it " the Queen said with a cheerful smile she was the most excited for the out come because this dance and selection often decides who the next Queen will be it was at this dance that her husband had chosen her so she was excited to meet her successor. As the two men headed in different directions as Alex headed for the dance floor and Damien headed for a sit they heard a voice that made them halt in their tracks

"well you are aware that since you have a high Page now the two off you have to participate in the maiden selection and you get to pick your pages maiden" Grandmaster Garcias said staring at them

looking at each other Damien felt like falling into a deep sleep he doesn't know how to dance but he had to follow Alex as they got to the dance floor he whispered to Alex

"you didn't tell me i was going to dance " he said looking at him

"don't worry" Alex said

"don't worry i don't know how to dance" he replied

"fine just follow what i do and talk with the lady to distract her that's all " Alex said with a grin

"that's all " he said sighing as he stood beside Alex and all the ladies surrounded them.

The music started and Alex moved forward and so did Damien picking the lady in front of them while the rest waited to be called to the dance Alex had taken a maiden whom her family was regarded as the richest in the whole of Nakuru dynasty while Damien was dancing with another from Trident dynasty as they both danced after five minutes where over they exchanged the two ladies as they both danced after another five minutes where over they went back and picked different ladies before they both danced again this continued until Alex had selected Elizabeth Warren from the Dirish dynasty whose father was also a Grandmaster and Damien had selected Natasha who gladly took his hand as they both danced .

"you are pretty clumsy you know right " she said smiling

"well i don't know how to dance this is my first time " Damien said

"you are pretty good for your first time then i would love to dance with you on the day of the party" she said smirking

"well Alex is the one choosing for me so i don't think he would pair us together" Damien said

"well i would convince him " she said as Damien exchanged collecting Elizabeth and guving Natasha to Alex

"i saw you talking with Damien what where you talking about " he said

"well you are a nosy type" she said frowning

"you think i am nosy you should look at mom and dad and see their expression you think they didn't notice the way you where all smiles when Damien offered you his hands "he asked

"well i came to ask you to pair me and Damien for your party " she said firmly

"well no i am not " he said as he let her go before selecting another maiden

picking Penelope Gomez he kept a nice face

"hello Alexander didn't you miss me " she said with her cheeky smile Penelope was a dark haired lady with a bright face and purple eyes she wore a yellow gown that fit her body shape and her white heels

"Penelope" Alex said as they danced

"oh don't give me that look i know you miss me " she said with a seductive voice

"well i didn't" he replied

"oh but you did i heard you call me so many times " she said before leaving to dance with Damien

"ah Damien salvatore the handsome high Page of the prince's court " she said smiling

"uhh well you know me who are you " Damien said

"seriously the most hurtful statement to behave you don't know who i am the conversation of the week" she said smiling

"Ehhm Penelope oh yeah well i didn't know who you were" Damien replied

"huh well pardon my dance some one placed a protection spell on you to prevent my charm "she said staring at Natasha

"what is the relationship between you and the Princess" she asked

"nothing" Damien said looking at her angrily

"oh is that so" she said as she left and the dsnce was over .

"well it is time for the selection. Who do you pick " the King asked

"my Page will be taking" he said looking at Damien before continuing

"Penelope Gomez" he said shocking everyone except Penelope she new Alex was avoiding her but didn't want to let her go. looking at Alex with amazement Damien realized that was why he made him his page

and with that gaze the King realized that Damien was indeed kept in the dark about the intensions of Alex

"and who will you be taken" the King asked

"Diana Tryna" Alex replied .
