Chapter two: His past

My previous life could be described in one word: misfortune. Since I was a child, I loved football. I could spend hours watching games, even from minor leagues. I loved analyzing them and thinking about how the tactics used in the game could have been improved. With every goal I scored or every assist I made, I felt an inexplicable thrill. But all good things must come to an end.

I was born into a wealthy English family with two parents who loved me more than anything. For my eighth birthday, they decided to take a trip to Malawi, largely because I was very curious about the flora and fauna of Africa.

The first few days went well, we had fun and laughed. But one day, while we were on our way back to our hotel, we were surrounded by a group of people no older than 23 years old and clearly malnourished. They only asked for food, but my parents realized that none of them wanted just that and told them no. Suddenly, they all jumped and started hitting my parents while they searched money in their clothes. When I was about to go help, I heard my parents scream: "Run Alex, you must find a man named Maldini near the coast of Slaui, he will help you fulfill your dream." My heart refused to accept those words and all the implications they contained, but before I knew it, my feet began to hit the ground desperately while my breathing became more agitated. I felt sweat dripping from my forehead and my heart beating so hard that it seemed like it was about to jump out of my chest.

I didn't know where I was going, I just wanted to get away from there. What had happened made me feel so scared that I couldn't stay in that place for another second. So I ran, I ran without stopping, without looking back. As I ran, I began to realize that I was leaving everything I knew behind: the buildings, the streets, and even my family, already d**d at that moment.

Finally, after a while, I stopped and looked around. I didn't know where I was, but I was sure that I had never been in that place before. I looked back and couldn't see anything familiar. I had run so far that I had lost track of time and space.

While I was still lost in my thoughts, I heard a scream that only managed to worsen my feelings. "SILENCEEEEEEE!"
