A YEAR AND TWO MONTHS INTERVAL.
THIRD PERSON POV.
The three boys strolled their way to the changing room after the first round match. It's time for them to take a break and prepare for the second last lap. The rest members of their teams followed as everyone of them quickly reach for their bottles of chilled water.
Meanwhile, Dexter who's team wore red shirts and black shorts, has his number and his name boldly written at the back of his jersey t-shirt. DEX 07. [#Forward]
His mind is carried away by something. During the match, his body and soul was divided. He hasn't been scoring since the match started and if not for Cyrus and Maverick who were persistent and quick-witted with the ball, the other team would have scored them 4–0. But though, they still managed to hit on them with the maximum number of 4 goals. It's a tie and that's the reason why they still have to go for another round.
Maverick, Cyrus and Dexter used to be their coach's favorite right from time, but it seems like one of the guys are dropping down slowly. Something don't seem to be right with Dexter and his team members has been noticing him since morning.
It sure is an opportunity for them to meet one on one and talk things out like how the next round is gonna be, how they're gonna buckle up and beat the other teams ass, how they're to arrange themselves and fix their eyes on the balls and never allow their opponents to take over them. Blah, blah, blah.
They all came in looking super exhausted. Some are using the time to chitchat with their lovers over the phone while some are relaxing, some are busy discussing about something and giggling, while Dexter sat there, leaned his back against the wall with his arm resting on his knee while his eyes gazing deeply into something random.
"Hey man," Cyrus took a seat on the floor next to him and Maverick comforted himself beside Dexter too.
"What was that earlier?" Maverick didn't give him the chance to speak as he's still super annoyed from the way Dexter played the first round. "You were busy passing the ball to the opposite team instead of our team. Was there something going on upstairs or you weren't in the mood for soccer today, which one?"
What could he say in his defense? Of course he was totally confused and drained out of the right words to use. Dexter ran his hand through his face, inhaling and exhaling softly.
"Look, I was about to ask you same thing but....I thought maybe you're just having a hard time, right?" One of the team members chimed in.
"Hard time indeed. The Dex I used to know don't find it funny when it comes to soccer. Soccer is his favorite meal and second name." Another one bursted.
When they began to giggle and chuckle, it felt like they were kinda making a little jest out of him but it was the truth. And Dexter wasn't liking it at all, so he almost reacted.
"It's not a hard time, psychos." They all shut themselves in pin drop silence like a king just stated a comment. "It's.... it's... it's...." He is finding the words so difficult to throw. But he needs to let go of the words, maybe he could find a little help or solution from them, who knows? "It's something that...." When their necks and heads and eyes began to grew curiously, he knew how much they were eager to hear it out. "It's something that.....well, I don't know how to talk to her about it."
"Whoa.....?!" Everyone gasped in amaze.
"So, it's all about a girl?"
"Women will not do us something.....?"
"They're super powerful that's why they'd have power to control we the men and get us wrapped around their pinky fingers."
"And I think she's invoking Dexter's spirit already. Don't you think?" Another one whispered a bit loud for Dexter to hear it but he just ignored them.
"And we got a tie with the purple winds."
"Damn, dude." Cyrus frowned slightly, "That's not a big deal."
Maverick patted his shoulder softly, smiling, "Tell me it's about Triana. Just tell me it's about her. There are no other genders in this room other than males only. We can help you out."
Dexter's eyes traveled from his two friends to the rest of his teammates seated around him, patiently waiting for him to agree to what Maverick just said. He did nod his head after a while and Cyrus blow his fist in the air.
"Yes! I knew you would fall for her one day. I knew you two won't be able to hold yourselves for two long."
"Wait," One of the guys were still trying to get it clear. "Dexter has a woman in his life or he's just preparing to?"
"Actually," Maverick cleared his throat, placing his arm around Dexter's shoulders as he proudly takes on Dexter's side. "There's this woman, she's been living in his house for the past one year and still counting. She's a single mom with three kids but she doesn't look like a mom yet. She's fucking hot and dashing cute. If not that I'm engaged to my fiancée, I would have dated her."
"So, what's up with this lady and Dex? What's he been waiting for, for a year now?" Another guy asked. Looking at Dexter, he frowned, "Don't tell us you haven't shoot your shot yet."
"You're sounding just like a kid." Dexter found his strength to talk again and Cyrus held back the urge of giggling. "How do you expect a guy who has never dated to shoot his shot on a woman who has experience relationship?"
The whole place swept in silence again. It's not that his friends can't give him the help and guidelines he needs, it's just that.....they do not understand the tension flowing inside of him. It's growing into an hypertension already. He needs to flush it out of his burning heart by confessing it all to her.
For the past one year ever since the day her ex-husband died, he has find it as an opportunity to replace his position in her heart. He knows he can never take his place in her life and he can never take his position as the kids biological father but he just want a chance to prove them wrong.
He just need a little bit of opportunity to tell them that he is capable to fill in that gap. To fill in that space and make things right again.
Since that incident happened, Triana has never been the same or remained the same. She's still carried away by the trauma of the father of her kids. He's sure the kids have gone over with the heartbreaking news of their late father. But Triana is just a drag.
The last time Dexter kissed her just so he could suck away the pain from her heart, she ended up moaning her ex-husband's name. Something she has never done before since when they started kissing. One thing that scares him the most is..... fucking her.
He has been battling with that idea for long now. He believes that would make her feel good but same time, he doesn't want to frighten her with his oversized-too long and massive size dick. He has seen himself and he truly knows what he'll look like if he thinks of having sex with a woman.
Won't she pass out? If not for the making out session but for seeing the size of his dick alone. He knows it's as long as one of his dominant arm. Isn't that what women wants?
"Forget about it. I can never make a good boyfriend." He nods his head again, giving it a second thought. But yet, the thought of it still eats him up everyday. Especially when she's close to him. It pains him that he couldn't confess his feelings to her, openly.
"Says who?" Maverick laughed and placed one hand on his shoulder. "Dude, you're worth to be her husband if you don't rough the plan."
"Millions of girls are dying to kiss you, Dexter. Talk much of the ones wanting to have a one nightstand in your bed." Cyrus added.
"That is little, some are chanting to have a photo with you." One of his teammates chimed in. "Right here in the stadium."
"Yeah, I know but I don't really know how to go about this." Dexter pointed out. He turns towards his two friends, looking at them from both sides. "I really love Triana and I swear on it. I've become addicted to her and what she thinks we only shared is the casual kiss. But I feel something deeper and stronger than that for her. But I don't know how to tell her about my feelings. Am just scared she might run away with the kids and her family and I'll never get to see them again. I won't lie at all, I've been eyeing her since I attended her first wedding and when I heard about the tantrums Leo caused, I took my chances of taking her away. And now that Leo is totally out of the picture and his father Edward has been confirmed the murderer who is now behind bars, I don't want to let this opportunity pass me by."
For some seconds, everyone kept watching him in silence like a TV, then they exhaled sharply.
He truly sounded like a kid who is in deep trouble and seeks help urgently.
"Okay, here are the guidelines but dude, you have to go smoothly with the flow. Take things easy if you want to win this woman's heart...."
They began to lecture him on the miles he should go and how he should get it started. What he needs to do and so on and so forth. All he did was to pay attention, nod his head so they know he's attentive.
Each of them with their ideas gave him their clues and hints. What they suggested he do and what he shouldn't. Things he should say and what he shouldn't say. How he should win the heart of her kids so they can begin to like him more and how he should prepare for a romantic date with her.
Lengths he should go to and places he shouldn't cross boundaries or step foot. Because in the life of a woman every man needs to be careful. Women are like eggs, if you don't take good care of them properly, they'll end up getting smashed on the ground and there's no way you can merge them together like broken glasses.
And you know what that means?
Boom!
You've lost your chances. Just as Leo did lost his opportunity to keep the same woman he later confessed his love to, but it was too late at the point of death (POD). Now he's no more, and another person has to renew that affection and awake that scent of passion which was dead in her life.
So, he has to take precautions on how to go about this journey of love if he really wants to enjoy the ride to the end of the road. It's an opportunity for him to play his path well if he wants to be the winner in her life.
Remember, one bar is out and one life is remaining. Would he be able to erase the darkness in her heart and restore light.....?
Even while he's diagnosed with a genetic illness that made him run away from women all these years?
Would she come to understand all these things he has been going through secretly and still love him?
