As Baby made his way towards the school cafeteria, a sudden downpour drenched him. He looked up, only to see a girl standing on the balcony, maliciously pouring water from her bottle. With a contemptuous sneer, she walked away without a second thought.
Baby stood there speechless, feeling a mix of anger and humiliation. He muttered under his breath, "Do you truly believe your father's status as the minister for finance gives you the right to treat others with such disdain? Just wait until I catch your grandfather."
Adjusting his glasses, Baby cursed the girl's entire lineage before proceeding towards the cafeteria with wet hair and a slightly damp shirt. As he entered, he noticed fellow students staring at him, some with contempt, some with disgust, some with admiration, and others with indifference.
Sighing inwardly, Baby thought, 'I understand that I'm hot but there's no need to stare for too long; it's making me self-conscious.' Determined not to let the gossip earlier affect him, he headed straight to his friends' table.
Callum, with a playful tone, teased, "Well, well, look who's sitting beside me. Is this a celebrity appearance?" Baby rolled his eyes and wiped his hair with a napkin.
"Baby, you always manage to find yourself in the center of attention, don't you? How do you do it?" Callum inquired.
Confused, Baby asked, "What are you talking about? What attention?"
Raising his eyebrow, Callum responded, "Are you really a student of this school? Have you checked the school blog today?"
Baby shook his head and took out his phone to browse the school blog. His heart sank as he read the posts. He couldn't help but feel a surge of frustration. He gave Ryan a deadly glare.
Caught off guard, Ryan asked, "what? Why are you glaring at me?"
Passing the phone to Ryan, he glared at him, saying, "Now you see how it involves you?"
Ryan glanced at the phone reading the contents.
[Dana: Ryan, what am I to you?]
[Ryan: My friend, of course.]
[Dana: But friends don't knowhow you taste.]
[Ryan: Huh?]
[Dana: You said we are friends, but friends don't know how to taste."
[Ryan: Do you know how I taste?]
[Dana: Yes, you taste like me and also smell like me.]
[Ryan: Are you done with your nonsense? If so, then I'm going offline.]
[Dana: I mean it.]
[Ryan: Bye]
Ryan, "....."
How is this my fault?
Callum who really loved to gossip got excited about this kind of news, "Baby don't worry, I also know Ryan smells like you but I don't know about the taste."
Baby, "....."
I didn't mean it ok? These are just random messages i send to Ryan when I'm bored. But who actually leaked our chats? Thankfully Ryan deletes everything related to work immediately we're done.
Raymond, "....."
I don't know what to say, Callum is such a busybody.. forget it.
Callum, always eager for gossip, got even more excited with this new revelation. "Baby, don't worry, I also know about #RyanDana. But I'm curious, is it #RyanDana or #DanaRyan?"
Baby shook his head, feeling exasperated. "Nonsense! There's no DanaRyan."
Callum smirked mischievously and said, "Ah, so there is a RyanDana then?"
Baby, "No, there's nothing."
Callum said playfully, "my dear Baby, you don't have to be shy, i get you."
Baby let out a deep sigh, and thought to himself, 'Whoever is behind this invasion of privacy, just wait until I catch you. I won't hesitate to beat you till you call me grandfather.'
Meanwhile, Ryan caught sight of Luciana and got up, a smile gracing his face. He walked towards her, and she greeted him with open arms, holding two cups of coffee. Ryan hugged her affectionately, and she playfully pouted her lips. "Aww, the big boy is acting spoiled," Luciana said, a fond smile on her face. She handed him one of the cups of coffee, and he gladly accepted it.
Observing the scene, Callum couldn't help but interject, "Oh, no! Don't tell me Ryan is two-timing?!"
Romeo, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke up, "He never said he was dating Baby."
Callum, "oh! That's right."
Raymond "....."
Baby also looked at their direction and sighed, "Ryan oh Ryan continue flirting with someone else's future girlfriend. My dear Raymond is surely cursing you in his heart."
Ryan sipped his coffee and said, "don't worry, they are just rumors, it'll die down soon."
Luciana sighed and said, "you don't have to break my heart like that, I'm also a RyanDana shipper. Why do you have to always let me know that my ship already sunken before it even sailed."
Ryan chuckled and said, " how about you ship us? Our ship will surely sail."
The corners of Luciana's mouth twitched, "are you hitting on me?"
Ryan, "No, do you want me to hit on you badly?"
The corners of Luciana's lips twitched more, "I have to ask in order to destroy those thoughts before it starts."
Ryan raised his brows, "why? Because I'm too perfect for you?"
The more Luciana looked at him the more she thought he's unpleasant to the eyes, she felt she needed to leave or she'd be charged for murdering her friend.
Ryan snatched her cup and downed the content. Luciana's eyes widened and clenched her fists chanting in her mind, "Luciana Smith, it's just a cup of coffee, don't kill this friend of yours because of that." In the end she still couldn't take it and chased him around the cafeteria demanding for another cup of coffee.
Raymond smiled, dropped his phone and started eating. Ryan soon joined them with a disheveled look but not after paying for two cups of coffee.
Baby stood up and said, "come with me." The four of them looked at him with the expressions "Be specific."
Baby cleared his throat and said, "Ryan, come with me." Ryan stood up while the others continued to eat their lunch.
.....
Baby sauntered into the dimly lit computer lab, his fingers dancing across the keyboard with lightning speed as he typed a complex series of codes. The room seemed to pulse with a sense of urgency, mirroring the intensity in Baby's eyes.
"Turn left," he commanded, his voice laced with determination, directing Ryan who was anxiously waiting just outside the school corridor. "Keep walking straight," he continued, his fingers relentless on the keyboard.
Finally, he stood up, a glimmer of accomplishment shimmering in his gaze. "You're there," Baby affirmed, his words carrying an air of confidence that was hard to ignore.
Ryan, however, hesitated, his voice trembling slightly. "Wait, there are three of them..."
But Baby's resolve remained unshaken. "Don't worry about that. I'll be there soon," he assured, his tone indicating that no obstacle was too great.
As Baby arrived at the meeting point, his eyes fixated on the faces before him, an expression of curiosity mingling with a touch of amusement. "I was wondering who it was. Turns out, it's my wonderful cousin brother," he remarked, his words dripping with a blend of sarcasm and disdain.
Jason, leaning nonchalantly against the wall, interrupted, his voice filled with a taunting arrogance. "You guys can leave. I'll handle him," he sneered, as though he relished the chance to confront Baby personally. "What an extraordinary honor it is for this cousin of mine to be sought out by someone like you."
The corners of Baby's mouth curled into a sharp, knowing smirk. With no time to waste on niceties, he cut straight to the chase. "You uploaded those pictures, didn't you?" he demanded, his voice resonating with authority.
Justin, the source of their conflict, responded with an infuriating calmness and indifference. He simply smiled, refusing to give Baby the satisfaction of an answer.
Baby's nod was resolute, his eyes narrowing with a steely determination. "With your attitude, I know this isn't the end. You still have more to blackmail with, don't you? How about you delete them, Jason? Save the face of this older cousin of yours."
A wry smile twisted across Jason's face, his nonchalance infuriating Baby even more. "Why should I? What could you possibly offer me in return? Moreover, It'd be my greatest pleasure to kick you down. Especially the stuffs between you and your bed warmer, no you should be his bed warmer right?"
Baby, "what? Do you have a problem with me being his bed warmer? Could it be that you did all this because you are secretly in love with this cousin of yours so your heart couldn't take it when I got together with someone else?"
Baby sighed gravely, "little cousin, i know this cousin of yours is handsome but you can't secretly covet him ok? Where are your moral standards haven't your father always taught you to be morally upright? Why would you have such thoughts about me?"
Jason's lips twitched as he continued to listen to Dana's words. "Who likes you? Don't you get it? I did everyone because I hated your guts. Who would have thought I'd be lucky to see Ryan's phone on the Mathematics teacher table. If not i wouldn't have been able to expose your shady deeds."
Baby nodded in an understanding manner and said, "I thought you were good enough to spy on Ryan's phone, it turned out that you are still not that good. I shouldn't expect much from you in this lifetime."
Jason, "those words you said earlier was just to make me say how i got those chats?"
Baby rolled his eyes and replied, "what else do you think it is? Don't tell me you're really in love with me?'
Jason gritted his teeth but soon calmed down when he remembered he still has a lot against him, "do you think you coming here would make me delete the rest i have?"
Baby blinked and asked, "what rest?"
Jason anxiously opened his phone, hoping to showcase his prowess to Baby. However, one by one, everything started disappearing right before his eyes."
A triumphant smirk danced across Baby's face as she observed Jason's growing panic. "What's wrong? Don't you have a backup plan?"
Jason managed to reveal a relieved smile. "That's right, a backup." But before he could fully relax, his phone began to ring. He answered, and a voice on the other end cut through the air. "Boss, I don't understand why, but everything on our system has been wiped clean." Instantly, he turned to Baby with a bewildered look. 'Once again, I have underestimated this cousin of mine. I admit defeat.'
Baby patted Jason's shoulder. "I suppose the backup is also gone. You really need to work on improving your security system. In the end, you continue to disappoint me. You aspire to be the next heir of the Wang business, don't you? It's good to dream, but do you truly have what it takes? You're not even from the main branch, just an average boy from the side branch. Yet, you dare to compete with me. Let me tell you just two words: DREAM ON."
Ryan fell silent, unable to find the right words. The harshness of the situation left him speechless.
Jason bit his lower lip, feeling unable to respond. He knew Baby was right; he was just an average boy from the Wang's side branch. They had always envied those from the main branch, who held more resources and opportunities. But what was wrong with him trying to compete? They may share the same surname, but why were they treated differently? Why were they always given the best, while the side branch was left to pick up the scraps? The world was truly unfair.
Observing the bitter expression on Jason's face, Baby scratched his head. "Having big dreams is fine, but don't cross paths with this older brother again, okay? I have no interest in the things you're striving for."
"Of course, you're not interested, but they're rightfully yours anyway," Jason retorted, before storming off.
"Wait! Where are you going? I'm not done with you yet! You posted our private chats online and made them appear scandalous. Hey, come back! I'm not finished with you!" Baby shrieked, but his words faded into the retreating background.
Ryan shook his headand sighed,"You've just bullied that poor boy. He'll surely find solace in a place where he can vent his emotions."
"I didn't bully him ok? I only spoke the truth, but he twisted facts and spread malicious rumors about me."
"They weren't fake; those were our private conversations. Please refrain from saying nonsense in our chats in the future, as it could jeopardize my personal relationships, including finding a girlfriend."
Baby tightly pursed his lips and clung to Ryan's arm, his voice filled with sadness. "I'm heartbroken. My husband seems to have lost interest in me."
"Who exactly is your husband? Please stop being so clingy, okay?"
"You are my husband! Have you forgotten the vows we made to each other, promising to grow old together, bound by the heavens and the earth?"
"Aiya, enough! All I remember is declaring that from now on, Dana Wang is my superior and that I would never betray him."
"That's not true! It was you who referred to me as 'boss,' against my wishes. Don't you realize how embarrassing it is for your husband to call you 'boss' in public?"
"Stop twisting the facts, Dana."
"But it's the truth! You even bestowed upon me 3% of your family's share as my dowry."
Ryan fell silent, unable to find the right words to respond.
I've reached my limit here; Dana will never listen.
