Chapter 157

I hastily wrapped the blanket over my body, but I didn't stop the mischievous Duke from climbing inside the quilt.

Sean Matthews grabbed Duke by one leg and raised him up when it became clear that Duke would not be able to entirely encase himself in the quilt.

"Ah! Put an end to this! Mom, help!" Duke flopped.

Sean Matthews threw Duke aside and called the people outside.

The housekeeper rushed in and quickly removed all five of the children, one at a time.

I cannot bring myself to gaze all the way up.

The rest of them seemed to be perplexed, and Duke went completely insane while being held by the maid. "Mom! I need my mother! I want to despise my father! Ah!"

The door slammed, putting an end to Duke's piercing scream.

The room was devoid of any noise. I felt a sense of relief. My body was still shivering underneath the blanket. I curled myself like a pupa, displaying barely half of my face above my nose.

"So nervous?"
