Chapter 43: Crazy Green Creatures (part 3)

The humans continued their expedition and stopped after half an hour when they saw another group of green creatures blocking their way.

"My Lord, we have a problem. There are three monsters at the peak of the Building Base at the enemy's camp," Elder San said to Xenos.

"Yes, and I can sense a massive threat from any of those three monsters," Xenos replied, squinting his eyes as he looked at the three hobgoblin riders.

"Patriarch Song... I believe the three of us need to fight now, and it won't be an easy battle."

"I know. I can feel a tremendous threat emanating from those three monsters."

"What threat? You guys are just feeling weak. Right now, I simply want to fight this bastard to release my anger," Lin Xu said, his gaze fixed on the enemy like a hungry wolf. As a wind-type practitioner, he was confident in his speed and believed he could escape even if something went wrong.

Even though he lacked an affinity for wind elements, it didn't mean he couldn't use the wind-type cultivation book. Having an affinity simply provided a boost in strength in that specific element and enhanced the understanding of the cultivation book.

Of course, element affinities had different grades, with 1-star being the lowest and 6-star being the highest. For example, Xenos had a 1-star affinity in the fire element, which was the lowest.

"ATTACK!! KILL ALL THE HUMANS!" one of the three hobgoblins shouted.

In the next moment, goblins started rushing, but the humans didn't back down and confronted the incoming goblins with equal fierceness.

Among the three hobgoblins, the one with an axe commanded his wolf to charge forward. They became faster and leaped high, with the hobgoblin dismounting from the wolf and slamming his axe into the center of the humans.

"Boom!"

Fifty humans were killed by the strike, and cracks appeared on the ground due to the impact. The hobgoblin swung his axe to the left, cutting two struggling humans in half. The hobgoblin, about to go on a rampage, halted as a person appeared in front of him.

"You lowly monster, are you enjoying yourself killing these ants?" Lin Xu exclaimed.

It was Lin Xu, who had rushed forward upon seeing one of the three hobgoblins move. Although he was slightly late, he was annoyed that the wolf, at the ninth stage of the Building Base, was faster than him, a wind-type cultivator at the peak of the Building Base realm.

The reason the wolf was at the ninth stage was that wolves were always one small realm lower than goblins or hobgoblins.

The hobgoblin didn't react, as it couldn't understand human language and didn't regard the human in front of it with any significance. The hobgoblin attacked.

Lin Xu could tell from the hobgoblin's eyes that he wasn't being taken seriously, which fueled his fury.

Lin Xu swiftly evaded the attack and slashed at the hobgoblin's arm. To his surprise, it only managed to leave a small cut on the hobgoblin's arm. As someone who was close to the Opening Qi realm, he could harness a bit of wind element, and he was confident in his ability to cut down a tree with his sword.

In a split second, the hobgoblin struck Lin Xu with its other hand, sending him flying.

"Augh!"

Lin Xu vomited blood.

The other two hobgoblins joined the fray, prompting Xenos and Song Ho to take action.

Argon looked at his soul coins with a wide smile. He now had over three thousand soul coins and they were still increasing. He could finally rel

ish the feeling of being rich.

Argon observed the intense fight on the screen. The two humans in the Opening Qi realm had yet to make a move. However, he noticed that both of them were paying close attention to the fight of the three leaders, particularly the old man.

An hour later, the battle was reaching its conclusion, with the hobgoblins reduced to a little over one hundred while the humans were down to one thousand.

Argon could see the desolation in people's eyes, with some crying and mourning the dead.

As for the three leaders, they were in a battered state. The hobgoblin with the axe had numerous cuts all over its body, and the other two had some burnt flesh.

Xenos and Song Ho both used the fire element, but Xenos had inflicted more damage on his enemy than Song Ho due to his one-star affinity.

As Argon attentively watched the screen, his eyebrows twitched upon seeing a person named Lin Xu suddenly sprinting towards the exit.

The hobgoblin attempted to chase him, but Lin Xu was too fast. Consequently, the hobgoblin shifted its attention to the remaining humans. Frightened, they started running away.

Argon could only shake his head and disappear.
