Projecting Himself As The Executor

Liliana wanted to clear up the misunderstanding but, the waiter arrived with their food. Swallowing her words back, a thought randomly popped inside her head.

Would she get away from Asher earlier if he was a cheater, someone with mistresses like most people in high society?

Liliana was unsure of the answer. She might still be foolish enough to yearn for his love even if he did that.

'Nah... Stop thinking about him.'

Their divorce should be finalized before the end of the week. Civil Affairs Bureau had started operating again.

Attorney Su would represent Liliana in the family court so, she didn't need to be there. Asher also did the same by appointing his lawyer as the representative.

Once the waiter finished serving their meals, Liliana spoke to correct the information. She smiled at Lucas who was sipping the coffee.

"Err... Mr. Liu, it's not my husband who's the cheater. Do you remember my friend who you called that night? She's the one who needs help."

Lucas was flustered. He put down the cup, "Ah... I'm sorry for accusing your husband. I just thought..."

Asher's nasty behavior and insults from before had really given Lucas a bad impression. It was given if he thought that man was someone who could cheat on his wife.

"It's fine," Liliana's smile faded. Bowing her head once, she said, "I'm sorry for how he accused you at the hospital before. Well... actually, we'll get a divorce soon so, I won't be related to him anymore."

Just a few more days. Then, she would leave the seat of Young Madam Shen. Anyone who was more qualified than her could fulfill it.

"Oh..." Lucas was at a loss for words. He didn't expect to hear of such a piece of news. Unable to restrain himself, he quietly added, "Congratulations, I guess? You're certainly better than... being with such a man."

Liliana chuckled. Lucas' random congratulatory words incited her to laugh. Her round shoulders shook as she tried to control her laughter.

"Oh, sorry," Liliana covered her mouth. Her eyes curved into two crescent moons, "That's... kinda funny... reminds me of what my friends told me."

Both Nancy and Nadia celebrated the news of Liliana divorcing Asher. If one was not informed about it, one might think it was Nancy and Nadia who got divorced from a bad husband.

The two of them planned to throw a party on the day the divorce was legalized. Their antics helped Liliana to stop feeling bad about the situation.

Ten years of harboring love for Asher was actually hard to be erased.

At times, the fond memories she had would resurface, bringing regret for ending their marriage but, Liliana swore not to look back. She needed to move forward and put herself as her first priority.

Seeing Liliana laugh brought a smile to Lucas' lips. He still remembered how devastated and frail she looked at the hospital a few weeks before. Although she still appeared gaunt, it was certainly better.

"Would this plan involve dirty tricks? Ah, what a stupid question, of course, it will," Lucas shook his head, thinking that he was being foolish, "What I really mean is, will there be something illegal?"

Somehow, the thought of helping to exact an act of petty revenge sounded so attractive to Lucas. He silently guessed that it should be his inner self projecting what he might do to Daphne's new boyfriend who humiliated him before.

But... it wouldn't be worth it.

Lucas didn't want to cross paths with either of them anymore. Keeping peace of his mind was more important to him.

"Hurm... I think I'll let you decide after hearing from my friend herself," answered Liliana vaguely, "Mr. Liu, you can choose to help us or not. Even if you reject it, I'll still assist with your job finding."

"Thank you so much!"

Lucas was so grateful for the reassurance. He initially thought what he would be asking for might be refused by Liliana.

"It's nothing," Liliana waved one of her hands. She grabbed her phone with the other, "Are you free? If not, I can bring you to meet my friends today. There's another one in this plan."

"Sure," Lucas immediately agreed, "I have no work today but, my night class begins at seven. I've plenty of time before that."

"Sounds great. I'll inform my friend now."

[Liliana: Guys! I think I found someone to help with the plan. Can we all meet today?]

While Liliana was sending a text to their group chat, Lucas was reminded of his night class. It resumed the last two days.

For now, Lucas planned to just continue it and sit for the civil service examination when the time came.

Michael's advice brought more possibilities to Lucas but, he didn't want to rush into anything. Although he had a passion for baking cakes and other pastries, he was still hesitant in utilizing his skills to get a living.

Simply put, Lucas was not confident with himself. He didn't see himself as someone who could be as successful or even just a bit less than Michael.

"My friends agree. They'll come here," said Liliana after confirming everything with both Nancy and Nadia, "Well... since this is a secret matter, we should talk about it somewhere private. Is that alright with you?"

"Sure, anything's fine with me," Lucas didn't see the need to object. He nodded.

Liliana smiled faintly. She opened the app that was exclusive to Palm Leaf Square. After browsing the directory, she found what she was looking for.

Nadia and Nancy would come to this mall from their respective places. They might take less than an hour, or even half to arrive here.

Liliana decided to bring them and Lucas to Saffron Laguna, an upper-class restaurant in Palm Leaf Square. She remembered that the middle eastern restaurant provided private rooms for their patrons.

Looking down at the untouched food, Liliana said, "First, let's finish everything. We can think and discuss better if we're not hungry."

"Then, I'll help myself to the food," Lucas smiled sheepishly. He took one of the sandwiches from the plate. He was indeed famished.

Liliana's smile widened. She really hope the revenge plan would go well.

Gilbert should be taught for messing with Nancy's feelings. His comeuppance was getting nearer.
