Vulnerability When Midnight Was Ushered In

Liliana couldn't conceal her excitement after hearing Nancy's story. Slapping her friend's thigh, she exclaimed, "So good, ah! Wow! I don't expect that!"

Her laughter bounced off the walls, the sound was so cheerful as if she hadn't encountered anything unpleasant earlier. Nadia, Nancy and Lucas watched Liliana with relieved smiles.

Lucas looked at his wristwatch. He got up from the seat, "It's getting late. I should go home now."

"Ah, yes," Liliana focused on the young man. Smiling, she thanked him, "We can't do this smoothly without you. Thank you, Mr. Liu, for being our partner in crime."

Those words tickled Lucas' heart. Laughing softly, he shrugged, "Should I feel ashamed that you paid me so much for this skit? I don't think I've done enough actually."

"It's fine, ah," Nadia interjected, waving her hand randomly, "Let this rich woman pay you. If not for you, I had to deal with those bastards alone."
